“A most excellent stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

This hotel was a most wonderful experience. I booked 2 rooms (one for myself and wife and the other for my sister) and both rooms were ready upon arrival. Both rooms were adjacent as requested. We were greeted by a friendly staff at the front desk, and whenever you walked by the desk, whether it be in the wee hours of the morning or late at night the staff was always friendly and cheerful.

Our rooms on the 4th floor were clean, had a small balcony and the wireless signal was very strong. The hotel was set back about a half block from the road so there are really no ocean front rooms, but that did not diminish our stay there of 5 nights.

We ate dinner at their restaurant the first night and the food was really good and the specials were priced reasonably. Not too far either up or down the road we were able to find other restaurants and stores.

The hotel is about a block from an ocean beach which was very peaceful and serene. The hotel provides towels 24 hours a day. The pool on site was clean and you could spend your time either in the sun or shade around the pool. The hot tube is only a few steps from the pool but is isolated from the pool and you can also spend time in the shade or sun as you wish. Your drink or food needs are tended by personnel that walk the area quite frequently to take care of the guests.

As part of the resort fee, we were able to do our wash and dry it for no charge (except for the detergent which was 75 cents). This was great for us as our vacation had us on the road for 17 days, so we only had to pack 8 days worth of clothes which saved us $$$ on airline baggage fees (we had 5 separate flights) and hauling an extra suitcase.

Should I ever return to Maui, this is where I will be staying!

Room Tip: The rooms are perpendicular to the road, so it appears that only the rooms, which may be suites on f...

We absolutely enjoyed our stay here. This hotel is clean, comfortable, and friendly. The staff went out of their way to meet our needs. They do have a "resort fee", but you get free parking, free internet, free beach/swim towels, and free bike rental. They had Disney channel which was a plus for my 9 year old. The beds were comfortable. They have live music every night at the poolside bar, which was a treat. They also have two hot tubs. We will definately stay here in the future.

“Awesome Maui Experience”

Great first experience in Maui! We went to attend a wedding that took place on Charley Young Beach across the street and a block down from this hotel. All of the staff at the front desk were awesome and genuine! I would like to make special mention of Rudy, Front Desk Supervisor. I called to the front desk asking if they had a couple of plastic spoons only to have Rudy not only send spoons but forks, knives, bowls and plates! Talk about going above and beyond! Tiffany at the Concierge desk was also friendly and helpful. Our hotel room was on the second floor room 239 and it was awesome! The bed, sheets and pillows were so awesome that we inquired their make and model to which Kathi gave us said information. The room came equipped with bar fridge, microwave and coffee maker. I would recommend picking up groceries at Costco, Walmart and/or Kmart all located just minutes from Kahului Airport. The liquor is inexpensive at Costco and Walmart. We ate breakfast at Spices Restaurant which cost the two of us $35. It was a very nice stay as you could not hear any noise from the other patrons in this hotel. The side that our hotel room was on received the sun on our lanai which was also beautiful even if it didn't have an ocean view as the tree and surrounding greenery was amazing. Pool loungers were always available. Can hardly wait to head ack to Maui!

Room Tip: Choose a room on the second floor or higher as main floor hotel rooms sit below outdoor parking lot.

The Maui Coast Hotel is a fantastic property. It is not an "over the top impersonable over-priced mega resort". I was, and continue to be treated as a very valued customer. Rooms are great. Beds are the most comfortable You will ever sleep in. Location is perfect! You are NOT stuck way down in Wailea or Makena, (and subject to being gouged price wise on food, drinks, activities etc). If You want a warm, quaint,, comfortable, affordable, and relaxing experience, I highly recommend that You call the Maui Coast Hotel first. You can thank Me later.
