We stayed there for our honey moon. Both of us are experienced photographers and knew not to trust pictures. So I was unsure to believe the images I saw on the website: [----].
We saw the street marker. Then we turn and drive up this very bumpy drive way. The first time you go up, it seems like forever.
Then the trees start to dissappear and you see beautiful colors and plants. And these two mid-size statues (very zen like) greeting you to parardise. Then finally in the clearing you see this magnificient house. And EVERY ONE that sees this house for the first time says WOW! This is a house. So no room service or anything like that. But the kitchen is fully loaded and he has cooler, a backpack and some beach gear you can borrow. Wolf, the property manager is the nicest guy. He will give you all the tips and directons on places (beaches) to go hang out and eat. We stayed in the bamboo suite. It is basically a wing in the house with a kitchen and your own garage. You will want to rent a car in advance and and buy groceries visiting here. There is a river that runs around it and the property is HUGE! The bathroom fixtures are all kohler (AWSOME TUB) and the hardwood floors a brazillian cherrywood. On the main house, no one else was staying here, so we go the hot tub whenever we wanted. It's a very nice tub. And at night the sky is marvelous. There is cable tv, phone and a few fun games to play. But you better be serious about your vacation because you can't use the internet (unless it's a toll free dialup number) and cell phone here. You may want to get a calling card for those needed long distance call you can get at a gas station on dollar store near you. (You will want to stay here at least a week and then another week on the touristy side of maui driving the hana highway not that scary, and massive water falls are breathtaking .) You will want to go hiking around the property to discover the waterfall and other beautiful scenes nature has to offer. You can't go by the pictures. It's more spectacular than that.

  • Liked — Spectacular house and AWSOME VIEWS
  • Disliked — Lack of internet and cell phone useage
  • Tips/Secrets — Come prepared with a car rental. Bring good walking shoes, clothes and a bathing suite. Time here is better to be spent with a group of adults or romantic getaway.

“Secluded Paradise”

This is an absolutely breathtaking vacation rental in Hana. Our stay there was excellent. It was completely relaxing and secluded as there were no other guests on the property. Every morning we awakened to the sound of singing birds. It was like living an a luxurious treehouse. This property is perfect for nature lovers and/or anyone who wants to get away from it all in a very private location. The property is about a few miles outside the main town.

We stayed in the Bamboo Suite which is a guest house adjacent to the main house above the garage. The owner who is very nice, met us upon our arrival and gave us a tour of the property. The suite is a one bdrm/2 bath with a full kitchen, living room/den, patio deck and balcony. The property was very clean and well kept. The king size bed was comfortable and the kitchen was fully equipped with pots/pans, utensils, and dining ware. The living room had a small TV with satelitte, VCR, DVD player and stereo. Complimentary use of a first aid kit, sunscreen, insect repellant, boogie boards, beach chairs, snorkel gear, beach towels, phone (local calls only but will work with a calling card) and laterns. Filtered water was also provided free of charge. The property also has a jacuzzi with an amazing view of the vegetation below and the ocean. There is also a trail leading to a private waterfall.

A note to those unaccostumed to natural surroundings: the property is in a rain forest so the complete eradication of bugs, geckos, lizards, etc. is impossible. If that is the expectation, then I would advise the squimish to not bother staying here nor in Hana for that matter, unless you can afford the $400+/night stay at the Hana-Maui Hotel which might be up to that standard.

With that said, don't be surprised if the occasional gecko or spider sneak in. It was never a problem for us.

  • Tips/Secrets — Be sure to stock up on provisions before you get there. The grocery stores in Hana are expensive!
