My partner and I reserved for 7 nights and endured 2 nights at this B&B. Even though the B&B website states a 2-night minimum and $100 per night for a couple, Hank, the owner charged us $120 per night and made us pay for a 3-night minimum when we were not happy with seeing the B&B in person. The B&B has a deck that looks out upon a beautiful waterfall and the place does have a hot tub and pool, but the benefits of this place end there. The grounds of this B&B are not well maintained - the pool and hot tub were filthy and the deck had just been powerwashed by a friend as a gift since the owner, Hank, is too old to care properly for the place. Hank could barely walk up the steps to show us to our room. The room was mediocre at best. We would have been better off camping outdoors than staying at this place. Our king-size bed (composed of 2 twin mattresses put together) was hard as a rock (the ground would have been softer). In addition the room we were provided only had shutters and no windows, so being early February, my partner and I were bundled in layers since this B&B is inland at a slightly higher elevation that the coast, so we froze our butts off in early morning. Our room was not very clean either. All edges and walls of the room were covered in lizard crap ( we found out it was lizard crap from another person who was staying there as we were leaving). Also Hank is very particular and asks all guests to take off their shoes while he tramps around his own place wearing sneakers everywhere. The continental breakfast was toast, yogurt, and fruit, juice and coffee. The juice is fresh squeezed OJ, but the coffee was 3 days old (we found out from another guest) and the coffee pot had not been cleaned in ages. The fruit was a half of a papaya with yogurt in the middle and sliced bananas on top. This B&B is not as clean or well maintained as it could be and the proprietor, Hank, is not honest with his guests concerning the conditions of the rooms nor the rates. Book this place at your own risk. We attended the Friday night bonfire and met lots of friendly locals who suggested other accommodations for us. If booking in advance and on a budget, I would suggest going to [-----]or [----] and speak to some of the locals about rentals they know of.
