We just got back from our second trip to the Hanalei Vacation House, and it was, again, an exquisite experience. The house is comfortable, picturesque, and is located in the heart of Hanalei town. It's just a block to the beach, and right next to some of the best shopping and dining on the island. Ten minutes access to all the North Shore beaches, Princeville, and Ha'ena.

Jim & Shannon are great people to deal with, very friendly and helpful. We'll be back for our next vacation, guaranteed!

Prime location close to everything you need while vacationing in Hanalei. Everything is walking distance to shopping and food.
Beware that since you are close to all the establishments the bars at night always play loud music that might be a problem when you are trying to get some sleep.
The property is for sale. So the foliage has been kinda unkept. Make sure to bring bug spray with you all the time since there are a lot of mosquitos.
The room we had was on the top floor. Kinda like an efficiency apartment type.
Its ok but not outstanding.

We stayed in the one bedroom for four nights, and it was really nice. Very close to all the action in Hanalei. In one respect it was a little too close, as the music from the nearby bars was a bit annoying at night. Admittedly we go to bed pretty early, and I don't think it went real late, so it might not bother most people. A big bonus was all the cool beach swag that was available - a couple of beach chairs, a small cooler, umbrellas, old beach cruiser bikes, boogie boards, etc... One other thing that might be a problem for some is that the bed is quite soft - after the first night I slept like a rock, but it took a little getting used to.
All in all a very nice place, and definitely a good value.

According to the real estate flier, 1.2 million bucks will buy you this little slice of paradise. Hopefully whoever buys this place will keep it going as a great, great place to stay in Hanalei, one of the loveliest slices of paradise on the planet.. We rented the downstairs one bedroom for five nights recently and just loved it. Renting was a breeze, with Shannon returning all of our e-mails promptly. The place itself just can't be beat. Jim and Shannon provide anything and everything you might need to feel right at home, from beach towels and boogie boards and coolers and beach chairs to a nice little boom box to jam some hawaiian tunes. pay laundry machines are on site, which we used. Our unit had a hot plate and fridge, sink and all dishes and utensils you might ever need. The blender made some nice drinks every night for our lovely lanai. It was also fabulous to have the biggest and best avacados growing on a tree right in the yard., which we ate every day. If I ever won the lottery, the HVH would be the first thing I bought. Instead, I have to settle for the once in a lifetime vacation in paradise at very reasonable rates. The place is crazy fabulous!
