We stayed in the 1bdrm unit in November.
The location was great - easy walking distance to everything including Hanalei bay. We spent several days at Hanalei bay and enjoyed swimming, boogie boarding & just hanging out. We also spent some time further north at Ke'e beach and it was pretty easy access.
We did go during a very rainy period and inside the unit it was fairly dark - hard to get things lit. We probably would not have noticed this if it hadn't been so rainy and there were a few hours here & there that we just wanted to stay in & listen to it rain.
Another warning about the rain - they do close the bridge which is the only way to get to Hanalei Vacation house. Again, our decision but one day we chose to head east & get to a beach where there was not a downpour. We thought for awhile that evening we would be finding another place to sleep or staying in our car as the bridge closed. We were fortunate - it reopened that evening.
The biggest downside to this place as lack of sleep. The bed is VERY soft & the local bar & musicians next door are quite loud. I am a very sound sleeper and yet they woke me up 2 of 4 nights there. My husband, who is a light sleeper, was kept up every night with them.
The place was relatively inexpensive so you do get what you pay for. Don't expect deluxe accomodations (we did not) but be aware of the noise.
