“Seriously Overpriced for What It Is”

The Point seems to think of itself as a luxury hotel with luxury prices...but without the luxury. I would have no complaints if I had paid, say, $86/night for this room. But we paid considerably more. It was very ordinary. Nothing special anywhere. For instance, even though there is an amazing bakery in Jackson that could probably have supplied THE POINT with incredible home-baked bread, they instead had the most bland supermarket-style offerings in their breakfast room. FOX news was blasting out of the breakfast room tv at a high rate of volume. We were there in July, the juccuzi was completely enclosed and really too hot and unpleasant to consider using. There were no places to sit in the lobby area that seemed comfortable. We tried settling into a picnic table outside with our books, but it's between the parking lot and the hotel driveway, which doesn't exactly help you feel like you've gotten away from it all. We didn't want to have to worry about parking the car in Jackson, so we walked to the village. It was a long walk along a busy highway. This would not be my choice again.

“You can probably do better”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 September 2011

Our room was clean, the breakfast was pretty good (we loved the cinnamon bread), and we appreciated being next to Kmart where we bought a few supplies we had forgotten to pack. The staff were friendly and helpful, and there were many brochures in the lobby to find things to do in the area. However, for the price, we were far from the town square, and there was really nothing special about this place (no view). The internet connection was very spotty, where it would drop you in the middle of what you were doing, so you would have to sign on all over again. We never had a chance to use the jacuzzi, because when we came back from the park, so did everyone else.
The Rendezvous Bistro is right next door, and although we did not eat there, it was recommended on Food Network's $40 a Day by Rachel Ray.

“TV-Yes! Jacuzzi-nope”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 September 2011

Ok, after roughing it for several nights without TV in Yellowstone and grand teton my husband had to have his mandatory 12 hours of college football(Roll-Tide!!). After camping and hiking, I could use a 6 hours jacuzzi soak. So we checked into the Point Inn Jackson Hole for one night to satisfy our creature comforts. While the price was a little steep, they did offer the morning breakfast and tonights tv, pool, sauna and jacuzzi for my terrible neck
! i was willing to pay to releive my aching neck!
Well, the hubby got his TV fix but I was left high and dry. The jacuzzi was on.... but ICE-cold. I mean cold, cold cold..not just lukewarm ...IT WAS COLD. I altered the desk and they made an attempt to turn it on but it just wouldnt heat up. I dont blame the poor desk folks because this is really a maintenance issue but I hate it when hotels advertize something then they just dont deliver.
Jacuzzis need upkeep and weary travelers will pay for their use....but if you dont intend to keep them working....could ya throw me a bone and discount my bill 5/10 $ for the inconvienience?
So I headed back up to the room creastfallen and found the big tub and soaked in that for 2 hours ..aaaahhhhhh...warm and bubbley!!
Oh yes, there was a comfy bed, and printing /computer services. Also the breakfast was rather nice, even if the location was small. I bring my tray back to my room anyway. Boiled eggs, Cereal, Waffles, pastry, Yogurt, juices, fruit, and Coffee with CREAMER!!!hazelnut creamer!!!
Ok that doesnt make up for the broken jacuzzi, but it helped.

“Nice Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 September 2011

We stayed for only one night, but our room was very comfortable. We stayed in a suite. It had a jetted tub, fireplace, fridge, microwave and sofa sleeper. The front desk staff were very nice and accommodating. The continental breakfast was good, but not anything special. I would stay here again.

“an okay experience, but a bit overpriced”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 September 2011

The Point is very difficult to find. Hint: go to the Rendevous Bistro and turn in the driveway next to it. We had to ask 2 different people to find it, and our GPS took us somewhere else based on the street address. For the quality, this hotel was a bit overpriced in my opinion. Everything about it is average--the room, the food, the service. However, it is adequate for a stay in Jackson Hole, just don't look for anything special in the rooms or bedding or breakfast. From conversations I overheard, apparently people who just walked in and asked for a room got a better rate than I had gotten by booking on one of the online booking sites that promise to get you the best rate. That somewhat soured my stay there since I felt I was being overcharged quite a lot for booking through an internet site rather than though the hotel directly. And it is not anywhere near the square in town, so you will have to drive to the square and find parking. When we were there, the town was very full and parking spaces around the square weren't easy to find at night.

Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel. We are sorry that we did not meet your expectations, we have several major renovations planned for the fall and off-season to update our hotel. We do hear complaints from time to time about our hotel being hard to find with a GPS unit, but unfortunately that is out of our hands. We hope that you will give us another chance to meet or exceed your expectations.
