The Point seems to think of itself as a luxury hotel with luxury prices...but without the luxury. I would have no complaints if I had paid, say, $86/night for this room. But we paid considerably more. It was very ordinary. Nothing special anywhere. For instance, even though there is an amazing bakery in Jackson that could probably have supplied THE POINT with incredible home-baked bread, they instead had the most bland supermarket-style offerings in their breakfast room. FOX news was blasting out of the breakfast room tv at a high rate of volume. We were there in July, the juccuzi was completely enclosed and really too hot and unpleasant to consider using. There were no places to sit in the lobby area that seemed comfortable. We tried settling into a picnic table outside with our books, but it's between the parking lot and the hotel driveway, which doesn't exactly help you feel like you've gotten away from it all. We didn't want to have to worry about parking the car in Jackson, so we walked to the village. It was a long walk along a busy highway. This would not be my choice again.
