As single guy i happened to be passing through and spent a couple of days here. This is totally a family oriented place filled with a bunch of kids and as for adult nightlife or entertainment- forget it. Most services such as cafe; saloon; stores were closed and i barely got a beer with some old nachos in a bag at the pub which was awful and tasted as if it was there for months. Bar tender at pub lacked personality or was just simply bored and unhappy. Singles-stay away from here as well as couples if you want to preserve your relationship. You may leave with a bitter taste in mouth or headache or Both!

My friends and I went here for my birthday weekend, it was a really great time. The water parks/pools/rooms/grounds were all clean and maintained, the staff that we encountered were all really friendly too. We are all in our 20's and we still had a great time on the rides, wave pool and hot tubs. The only thing I can say is the hot tubs were not large enough, and there were a bunch of little kids screaming and splashing which was pretty annoying, they need larger hot tubs for 16+ or something like that. We also had a nice outdoor patio on the first floor where we could sit outside and relax. Overall the stay was great and we plan on coming back soon!

Room tip: first floor has a nice outdoor patio with a forest view, was really nice.

We opted to stay at the Wilderness for our yearly trip to the Dell's area. As always, it was a great experience with a wonderful staff, perfect lodging, and pool options. Would recommend to anyone. We've learned from experience that the Wilderness always has clean rooms, dining on site and all you need for your trip. Close to everything but not in the craziness of the mobs in the downtown area. Although it is so large that you have to shuttle to the pool areas, the driver was there quickly on both the rides to and from the pools. Love the seasonal promotions and savings they offer. It's a nice chance to use the pools that don't sell passes to the public.

Room tip: 3 bedroom condos on the golf course could be used as a 4 bedroom listing (with the loft as the 4th bedroom). Love the condo although the bunk beds seem impractical...the room they are in is quite small for 2 lodgers.

I stayed here with my family this past weekend (sept. 13& 14th 2014). We stayed in room 121 which was on the first floor between 2 of the 3 indoor water parks. My kids which range in age from 7 - 4 really enjoyed all the water parks the wild west had the most for younger kids but all had a small kid play area.
Our room was very clean it had two double beds and a pull out sofa behind a short wall so you kinda felt like you has two rooms two tvs a sliding door with a small patio that had two chairs and small table.
The thing that really stood out as negative to me were the people at the information desk didn't really know anything and every time you go ask them a question they didn't really know but would try and get you to go listen to their speech on their time share condo's. If you don't know about the resort don't call it an information desk. I really didn't like how pushy they were. And the people that checked me in also didn't seem very knowledgeable about some of the things that the resort offered like the horse drawn Wagon rides (the person driving the Wagon told us more about the resort then the front desk and information clerks) That is my biggest complaint.
The positives are the water park areas, hallways, rooms, and grounds were all very Clean I saw more then one housekeeper vacuuming the hallways.
I really liked all they offered guests to do from painting pottery to zip lining there is something for every age group to do. And the towels they give you at the water parks are a nice size usually you get those small useless towels but these were actual bath size towels. All the staff that we in countered were very friendly. And the lifeguards actually walked around and payed attention to swimmers. They had small areas so they were not trying to watch a large area. They did a great job.
We will definitely be going back. But next time will plan to stay longer.
