We enjoyed a 5 night stay during the first week of June 2007 in an oversized King Suite with hot tub. The room was neat, clean, and comfortable. The bed was firm, extra pillows were available. The only criticism of the unit was lack of airflow in the middle sitting room. The A/C was in the bedroom.
Caution AT&T Wireless customers - limited signal on a Razr in this location. Reception in the rest of the locations we visited was fine.

I liked this hotel because it was off of the main drag road of Wisconsin Dells. It's just right around the corner, but it was really nice to get away from the craziness. There is a lot less traffic to manuver around if you want to leave the hotel, and it's close to a nice McDonalds.

My husband and I stayed there one night, Friday, November 24 for a quick getaway after a hectic Thanksgiving. We would have preferred to stay at Ho Chunk but they were full, so I looked for a recognizable hotel name and found this one and booked the casino rate, which included a roll of quarters. They couldn't find me a king nonsmoking when making the reservation, but had one upon check in. The room absolutely stunk of room freshener, so obviously someone had smoked in there previously, and they had tried to remove the smell. I am a smoker, but hate staying in a smelly smoking room, especially one that they have tried to clean the smell out of, which makes it worse. Anyway, check in was prompt, but done without any personality, a smile, a thank you, nothing.

Just know that this is a no frills room, there is no renting movies, as it is just basic cable channels. There is the in room coffee maker which has the prerequisite awful awful prepacketed coffee. The deco was awful and really showing wear and tear. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone unless you are really just looking for a place to sleep for a night. There were however ample towels which was nice and extra pillows in the closet. Three pillows on a king bed doesn't cut it for us, so the extra two were needed.

The bed itself was a king, but slumped in the middle, so it was a definate "stay on your side" kind of sleeping, lol.

This was definately LOW season in the Dells, we drove around for a long time, just trying to find a normal restaurant to eat at. We ended up at the Denny's next door for a late meal on Friday night and at Houlihans for lunch Saturday.

So, in a nutshell, if you are looking for a cheap place to stay, this is it, just don't expect much and you will be happy. Perhaps in the summer when you could use the outdoor pool and playset with the kids, it might be worth it. BTW, we never even got a look at the indoor pool, so I can't say anything for or against.

We had reservations at the Best Western Ambassador Inn for Friday and Sat. nights (Nov. 10 &11th) with a casino package. The written confirmation we received clearly stated that there would be no refunds within 24 hours of check -in. On Friday afternoon, a sleet/snow storm came through the area and traveling became risky. We phoned the hotel and they immediately agreed to apply our deposit to our Saturday night stay and not charge us for Friday night. Upon arrival on Saturday, we were able to check into our room several hours early and were surprised to see we had been given a two room suite at the original rate we had anticipated paying for a two queen standard room! We have stayed here frequently and are always pleased with the service and accomodations.
