“Lovely stay in Wausau”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 December 2011

I stayed at the Everest Inn for three nights while in town on business. The inn is clean and cozy, with both wonderful antique-filled bedrooms and comfortable common spaces to hang out, and the hosts make one feel right at home. Dave and Lori have truly found their calling as innkeepers and are long-time Wausau residents who know lots about the town and area. Breakfast had lots of delicious options and coffee, tea, and treats are always available. I would definitely stay again.

“A great stay in Wausau”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 November 2011

I had a funeral to attend this Saturday and looked up hotels in Wausau on Friday. When I scrolled down the usual suspects of hotels I kept scrolling. I ended up on the B & B lists and the Everest. I couldn't believe the prices. They didn't seem right. I called. The prices were more than right; they were excellent. They stayed up for my late arrival and even had a snack ready. (Pound Cake...that a friend had made... an excellent friend!) I slept well in a comfortable bed. Breakfast was an excellent egg casserole, granola yogurt, juices, coffee and 'wine bread' which wasn't made with wine and you may not be lucky enough to get any during your stay...but I did. There! Jealous?! If you ever have some you will be!
There's off-street parking in back. An excellent restaurant/bar in an old italianate house across the street and a great neighborhood of old 'lumber-baron' houses in the surrounding blocks.
The only negative was that I couldn't stay longer. My every need was taken care of, by Dave and Lori. The house was beautifully decorated for Christmas with multiple trees etc.
It's worth the effort to get off the highway and get into Wausau proper to enjoy these friendly people and their classic B&B!

“Just perfect”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 September 2011

I went to Wausau to see the Birds in Art exhibit at the Woodson Museum - I'd go back again for it and to stay at this marvelous B&B. The owners make you feel like you are part of their family. Breakfast was great too!

“Affordable, Friendly, Very Comfortable... Worth the trip!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 June 2011

We stayed one night, Saturday, June 18th. Lori was VERY helpful and nice over the phone leading up to the trip. Check in was easy. Dave and Lori were very welcoming and friendly but also more than accomodating in giving us our privacy too.

We rented one of the rooms that shares a bathroom, it was only $57 a night and it was no problem at all, no waiting for the bathroom or anything.

They suggested great spots in town for dinner and walking around, Wausau was beautiful and Lori and Dave were wonderful hosts.

Breakfast was delicous, and they were very flexibile on checkout time. What a wonderful trip, we will be back! Great town, great place to stay, great value!

When staying in Wausau, if you like sushi, check out Yao's Grand Dragon FOR SURE!

Room Tip: Just call and talk to Lori, explain what you want!

“Feels like you've come home!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 May 2009

My husband & I spent our wedding night here a few years ago & come back to celebrate our anniversary. GREAT Bed-and-Breakfast especially if you enjoy a historic home loaded with antiques. Lori & Dave are wonderful hosts--really make you feel like you've come home! The location is great--downtown is walking distance. Breakfast is homemade. Lots of common areas, but the rooms also have spaces for hanging out alone.
