We come to Tomahawk about two times a year, we stay at the roadway (formerly Comfort inn) Let me tell you, It's not so COMFY anymore. Since the new managements taken over we haven't enjoyed any of our stays at this hotel. the whirlpool has been out of order for quite some time, there is a lot of sand in the whirlpool, the pool was cloudy, it looks like it hasn't been cleaned in a very long time, the heater/air conditioner in the room is hard to regulate, its either to hot or to cold! our tv remote didn't work, there was no fan in the bathroom, the beds were very uncomfortable The continental breakfast is terrible, they have very little things to chose from.. to say the least drive further to get your moneys worth! I guess you get what you pay for, but we expected more from this used-to-be nice hotel.

We traveled to the Rodeway InnTomahawk with our 10 and 16 years old children and found it to fit our needs very well. The property is 6 years old but looks newer. It was kept up well and very clean. The indoor pool is very nice, although only 1 lounge chair but ample regular chairs and tables. The room we were given upon arrival was on the second floor with the window opening into the indoor pool area. We found the room smelled of pool and seemed very humid. My son and husband both have asthma issues, so we switched to the only other available room, a first floor room facing to the outside of the property. It was much better, but would have preferred the second floor since my husband and son were woke up at 4 am one day by some noisy people above us.

The breakfast area was very nice, and the breakfast was very adequate (waffles, donuts, toast, bagels, orange juice, coffee, milk, oatmeal). The location is close to Tomahawk (within 5 minutes).

There is also a bar area in the breakfast area for the evenings, where you can order a pizza, and a fitness center by the pool that seemed pretty good, although I did not use it this time. The arcade in the pool area no longer has a pinball machine, much to my husband's disappointment.

I would definitely recommend this property, and we actually have tentative plans to stay again next year.

This Rodeway was a very pleasant surprise. Its northwoods decor (with lots of rustic beams and a beautiful fireplace in the lobby), the availability of a small in-hotel bar, and the outstanding service provided by Kristin (the desk-person, bar-tender, and all-around helper) made this a very, very pleasant stay.

This is probably the nicest motel in the area. It is right off the freeway and easy to find. It is on the outside of town so nothing is within walking distance. It is clean and the staff is nice. The pool is nice and the breakfast good. Motels in this tourist area are expensive ($68 corp rate) and fill up fast. If you just need a clean, cheap place for yourself and aren't fussy try the Bridge Inn instead and save $25 a night.
