“Ok Food, Terrible Staff”

My girlfriends and I went to have breakfast at the Inn at Cedar Crossing, what a terrible experience! I am one that's all about the TOTAL exprience and the food was ok our waiter who was young was alright however the manager Kelly was rude. we asked if we can sit by the window seat for breakfast, Kelly made a face and a crude comment " well if I seat you there the waitress will take forever to serve you since she has plenty of patrons in her section" Ummm ok then proceeds to seat us in the back of the restaurant,my freinds and I then asked if can we be seated on the other side of the resturant ( near the bar area) so that we can have a seat mear to the front of the resturant and enjoy the sunny day ( there was not many seated on that side. Again she made a face, and said in a rude tone "fine", she was rude and made it seamed like we inconvenienced her. My father owned restaurants in the Chicago and I was brought up that you always give your customers a delightful experience and modify as you can along with GREAT food. The food was cold and the "experience" was tainted when Kelly's attitude set the tone of our meal. We asked our waiter who the hostess was that had seated us he said she is just part of staff then asked her if she seated us and then came back and said she is the manager. could she at least come up and apologized that she came off rude to us, no instead we got bad looks the whole time we were there.. I won't be going back, and we go to Door County often... Never take your customers for granted!!

“Wonderful staff and fantastic breakfast!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 October 2011

The staff at this inn were wonderful - helpful and very friendly. The breakfast (cherry pancakes and a morning bun) was just amazing! They put out tasty cookies (chocolate chip and oatmeal raisin) every afternoon and we couldn't help but sneak 3 or 4! The room was quiet and clean with a wonderful green victorian sofa, which I loved. We only had small issues, the only window in our room was a small door that led out to a shared patio (basically not much light), the shower was not fantastic, but at home I'm spoiled with a rain shower, which made this shower seem ok at best. The location was perfect for us - we walked around Sturgeon Bay one evening and had an easy drive to other towns during the day. We would definitely stay again!

“Awesome staff and breakfast.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 September 2011 via mobile

Gail the innkeeper is wonderful. We had to terminate our stay due to a family injury and she was very understanding. She offered to provide us drinks on our travel across the state. Breakfast was delicious as well and the rest of the staff are great.

“Charming and quaint inn”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 August 2011

Don't miss the opportunity to stay at this inn. Best staff service ever!!! Rooms vary in size. We had a smaller room, but checked out some of the others and you can't go wrong with any of them. We stayed in the Magnolia room. Cozy, comfortable bed and beautiful antique furniture. Only negative was the carpeting - looked like someone had walked through with muddy shoes and it appeared stained in some places. Seemed to be the only room that could use new carpeting. After seeing a few of the other rooms would recommend Room 6 or 7 if you are looking for something very special. Despite being in town and located over a restaurant it was very quiet and one never heard street noise or activity from the dining room below.
When we arrived it had been rainy and a nice cup of tea was just the thing we needed. Gale offered to make us pots of tea with fresh cookies for us to have in our room or to enjoy in the comfortable upstairs sitting room. She gave us great suggestions for sites to see and places to visit. The following morning we had an equally great staff experience with Deb and her staff at breakfast. By the way breakfast and dinner (we ate there the first evening we arrived) is by far some of the best food.
Don't miss the cinnamon buns in the morning!
Great location to walk and explore Sturgeon Bay historical district. Lovely antiques, quiet inn, quality food and exceptional service puts this inn at the topof my list.

“Lovely evening”

We stayed for the night of July 24th. The Inn allowed us to check-in early, the room was lovely, well appointed and the staff very helpful. The gathering room offered refreshments as did the dining area downstairs. We stayed in the Magnolia Room. Queen bed, our own bath and balcony.
Goofy stuff....Small TV, noisy balcony (if u went out) due to fans placed high up on the roof and the light on the very quiet AC unit on the wall above our heads, glowed like a beacon all night, other than that, the place was quiet, the food GREAT and the location perfect. Prices were fair and we will return.
