This is the second time we have stayed in this motel, and we were again very satisfied with our stay. It is a basic motel, but is quiet and comfortable and has reasonable rates. The morning breakfast is more than adequate. We did not use the pool area, so cannot speak to that quality. We would certainly stay here again--we are seniors, and by calling the Choice Hotels reservation number, we were able to get a very good rate with the 60+ program. Our only glitch was that the initial room we were assigned hadn't been cleaned yet, but then we were checking in early, so that might have been understandable. We were assigned the one next door, and that was fine. Apparently, however, the desk clerk neglected to make the change in the computer, and our room was later assigned to someone else. When the error was realized, it was quickly corrected and the desk clerk on duty apologized for the error. No problem really as mistakes do happen.

After a couple less than desirable hotel stays, we were pleased to stay at a welcoming and clean hotel with little extras! The staff was friendly and attentive, the room was nice and neat with plenty of room. Nice extras - popcorn at night, recliner, microwave and refrigerator, plenty of towels, in-room safe and shuttle bus to and from Beef-a-Rama Festival, even though we didn't use it. Not too far from downtown shops and restaurants, bike trails or water.

We booked two rroms here in late June 2008. One room was a suite and the other a regular king next door. Rooms were clean but definitely not updated. King room had a soaking wet carpet in one area which they remedied by bring in a fan. That resulted in less humidity but I still felt uncomfortable in there.
Staff was nice and the breakfast was just okay...nothing great.
I find it hard to believe this is the #1 rated hotel in Minocqua (which is why we booked here). Others we drove by seemed much newer.

Very nice quiet hotel, I enjoyed the stay. The beds were comfortable, not the usual hard, flat kind you find at most average hotels. The bathroom was well stocked with towels and washcloths which is nice, sometimes you only get one apiece. Continental breakfast was ok, not fancy, but adequate. I would recommend this to all travelers. Book on the hotel's website for best price.
