Very clean. Good location in nice neighborhood. Not in the main downtown area. Charming older building....no elevators, could be a problem for some, but would not stop me from going back. Great breakfast at the cafe, sit outside if you can. Grocery store behind hotel. Very convenient.

Thank you for your review regarding your recent stay at The Plaza. I am pleased that you enjoyed your visit! Although our building does not have an elevator, I am glad that you've embraced our building and it's charms. I'm also glad to see you enjoyed dining in our courtyard! What a fantastic spot to enjoy our great entrees from the cafe!

Was impressed with room size as well as accomidations that came along with the room. Recommend this for a more than a night stay room. Having a full kitchen available at your fingertips is nice! Also the walk downtown is a breeze and great spot felt safe in this part of town!

Booked room online- got to hotel and had to pay extra for parking. Thought it was included but not very clear. Price for parking was reasonable enough compared to Chicago but still disappointed that I was unaware. No pool, no free breakfast only 2.50 off coupon....

The hotel is in a great location and the cafe is good, how ever the price of the hotel keeps creeping up and up, I have been staying there for about 20 yrs and I know there has been changes, a little more modern conveniences and I have stayed at other hotels that cost less and some offer more than the plaza does at less expensive prices if your comparing other hotels, the plaza has more charm, but other than that, that is the only difference

I felt fortunate that I only had to stay here for one night. It's obvious that the rooms have not been updated in a very long time. The lobby and my room had an old smell to them. Everything felt pretty dingy and the shower head was way too low. It only came to about the height of my nose. I would not recommend staying here.

Kris,

Thank you for your review regarding your recent stay at The Plaza. I am sorry that your stay with us was less than desirable. While we do have rooms with varying stages of renovations, we strive to make every room as functioning and comfortable as possible. It is clear that we missed the mark in your case.

I encourage you to keep your ear to the ground, as we are in the planning stages of updating all of our guest rooms to make them more comfortable, while maintaining the charm and character of the property. Until then, please let me know if there's anything further that I can do to assist you.

Best,
