The place essentially has a lodge feel to it. It's not, but the decorate it well, particularly for Christmas and the weeks following.
Furniture is a rustic style and many bedrooms have fireplaces or jetted tubs. We had one of each with adjoining rooms. Many rooms have an entrance to a private porch, but this of course is useless in the winter. Overall, I was impressed with the rooms. The staff was courteous, but didn't knock any walls down trying to help. I approached with with several requests regarding running out of things and they apologized but did nothing.
Don't depend on breakfast here. It is standard fair high carbo (make your own) waffles, yogurt, and donuts. No fruit, hard boiled eggs (if you get there in time), and that's about it.
I'd have been okay with this place except for the price. Apparently they are under the impression that this is a 5-star hotel and slammed full of amenities. It's just adequate to nice and has cute furniture, none of which I'm assuming they want you to take home. However, we were stuck there while in town for a wedding and traveling with an elderly man, so going elsewhere wasn't an option.
It was the first time, but definitely the last time for staying at his hotel.
