We were camping at Wildcat Mountain State Park, but a severe thunderstorm and a leaky tent left us looking for new digs at 1 AM. We were heading toward the Dells, saw the Hillsboro from the road, did a U-turn, and parked it. The nice lady behind the front desk had us checked in quickly. We had a big king room with a comfy bed, quiet air conditioner, couch, cable, and fridge. The room was clean, comfortable, quiet, and functional. For a small town hotel, it was more than adequate. There is also a bar/restaurant attached to the hotel, but by the time we were half-way settled it was a little too late to visit.
We took advantage of the free continental breakfast in the morning, went back to the room, called for a late checkout, and then went swimming in the indoor pool. The pool and hot tub were nice, but the workout room was only a treadmill and stationary bike (maybe it was an eliptical).
We weren't there for very long, but during our eleven hour stint, we found nothing to complain about.
