“Log Cabin Suite Quaint”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

My husband and I stayed here for two nights for our 19th wedding anniversary. The room itself is very unique, quite unlike anyplace we've ever stayed. You really do feel like you're in a log cabin. Someone mentioned on here that there's wifi at the lodge, and while it's true that there is wifi access in the Log Cabin suite, it is the only suite in which there's wifi access. The Log Cabin suite happens to be situated right next to the main office, which by chance is close enough for anyone in the suite to gain access. But the other suites do not have wifi.

The only downside to this particular suite, in my opinion, would be the bathroom...the shower, the bathroom sink, and toilet were all so small. The shower is a tiny stall with a very flimsy shower curtain. It wasn't possible to shower without flooding the bathroom floor, so make sure you have plenty of extra towels on hand. And the sink is one of those corner ones, but probably the smallest I've ever seen. No room for toiletries at all. And when you brush your teeth, if you're not careful, you'll hit your head on the mirror cabinet above it. And the toilet seemed miniaturized...the seat being one of the smallest I think I've ever seen. My husband in particular did not like it at all. Other than the bathroom issues, it was a wonderful place to stay.

Room Tip: I believe all rooms in the B&B have queen beds...versus at the Inn they're all king size.

“A wonderful honeymoon”

We stayed here for 3 nights for our honeymoon. We had the enchanted tree house sweet, which was a bit smaller than I thought it would be but still lovely. The breakfast was very very good and my husband and I can't wait to come back for again.

“Very nice bed and breakfast”

My boyfriend and I stayed here in August for one night. It's not in the heart of Lake Geneva but about 20 minutes outside in an area called Fontana. It is a little difficult to find but that is part of the charm of the Lazy Cloud. The staff was waiting for us as we had a late arrival and were gracious and welcoming. All of the choices that were made online and via email before we arrived were spot on so it made check in very easy. The pie that we requested was fantastic! They provided us with a number of menus to choose where we would have dinner and the staff were careful to be neutral when giving personal recommendations.

I believe each room has a hot tub and a lot of romantic accessories like candles and special lights. The Lazy Cloud is very generous with amenities in your room, such as wine, pie, chocolates, etc. It would be difficult to feign romance as the place is truly set up for a private evening with your special someone.

We were the last couple to have breakfast the next morning so we didn't see the whole spread but what we did see was quite carb heavy, such as make your own waffles and homemade pastries. We sat outside and it was a relaxing and beautiful day and we were sad to check out as it was the perfect day for lazing around. My favorite part about Lazy Cloud were the hammocks - I could have laid in them all day.

I would recommend Lazy Cloud again for a quiet getaway - it's close enough to Chicago and Madison for a quick weekend. Lake Geneva is very cute and was exactly what we were looking for and the Lazy Cloud completed our weekend.

“Romantic and Wonderful”

My husband and I stayed here to celebrate our 20th anniversary. Everything is geared for romance! We stayed in the Log Cabin suite. Very cute. Nice amenities- bubble bath, whirlpool bath for 2, chocolates, wine, tea lights. No TV- which was great, but they do have wireless internet! We've already booked to return. We're going to try a different suite and give a report.

“Nice room and good dinner, but average breakfast and overpriced lodging”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 August 2011

I did enjoy my time spent here last weekend with my husband. We stayed in the treehouse suite which was very cute. And the outside grounds were very pretty and spacious. The whirlpool tub was large however one of the jets was busted and my terrycloth robe also had a rather large hole in the seam. That was a bit disappointing.

The rib picnic dinner was great! It costs about $50 bucks but you get a ton of food and it rocks. We got potato salad, macaroni salad, ribs (way too many for us to eat in one sitting so we put them in the fridge), cheeses, crackers, bread, fruit, and cheesecake. YUM it was great!

The bed was comfy and there were so many cute hidden items throughout the room several dollar bills and little notes people left which was fun and cute.

The breakfast was so-so. I did know from their site it was not a typical B&B breakfast but a continental hotel style breakfast. I don't understand why they do not offer the typical large breakfast, bacon, eggs, pancakes etc. though. Instead cereal, waffles, apple coffee cake etc. It tasted fine but I love the large B&B style breakfasts much more.

The room as I said was nice, but man $200 a night is a bit steep in my opinion. They say the suite is 2 levels but the 1st level is only a room with a shower in it and that is it. So that doesn't warrant the extra cost in my mind. I agree with what someone else said on here that about $150 a night sounds more what the price should be.
