We recently spent 7 nights at the Holiday Inn Express Delafield due to a family medical emergency. The room was very comfortable and well appointed. The only amenity that I felt was lacking was an in-room refrigerator. We took advantage of the complimentary breakfast every morning. There was always plenty of food and several choices of cereal, hot breakfast, fruit, etc. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It was a tough week for our family and the HI Express staff and facility made it comfortable.

We attended a wedding in Delafield and the HI Express was the recommended hotel. After reading the reviews I was reluctant but our family was all going to be there so we decided to go ahead and book it. I am very happy with our decision. The hotel is in a great location and the staff was fantastic! The night manager brought me a cup of fresh coffee (twice) because I was working in the lobby area before breakfast was ready. Everyone was so accomodating and gracious as 10 adults and 9 young children invaded the pool and breakfast area. The hot breakfast and choices each morning were fabulous--including the complimentary cookies at the front desk throughout the day. My brother's family needed extra time to check out and the staff accomodated his request.

The rooms are a decent size in this hotel and easily accomodated two adults, two children, and all our "stuff." Our room was very clean and the bed was one of the most comfortable hotel beds I have slept in recently. The extras (vanity kit, fabric shower curtain) in the bathroom were a nice touch.

Regarding the smoking issue: It is amazing to me that people can be so unreasonable in a non-smoking hotel in a non-smoking state. As the mother of two young boys I prefer not to expose them to the dangers of second-hand smoke. Even though signs are posted everywhere inconsiderate guests continue to smoke in the rooms. Our first assigned room was smoky upon check-in and the staff moved us immediately with no problem.

A message to the manager: We spent three nights in a room on the 1st floor and by the time we checked out it smelled like smoke. Is there a problem with your ventilation system or is it coming in from outside? We could have easily been charged based on the smell the day we checked out. As far as I could tell no one was smoking inside on the first floor where our entire family was housed for the weekend. One family member smoked outside so the smell could have easily come from him.

this is a very nice and clean Holiday Inn Express location. It is located walking distance from stores and shares a parking lot with a popular restaurant and bar chain.

They serve a very nice breakfast, their rooms are large and clean. My room was on the interstate side and I could hear highway roar.

My only complaint - which could have been my fault came from their wireless internet. It would not work to send emails or communicate via my vpn. I only had 10 minutes to make the connection so it may have been me.

What a hidden gem. The entire staff was absolutely fabulous!! We were treated like royalty. This hotel has the perfect pool with an attached fitness center. It was nice to have an absolutely immaculate pool area at a hotel. For that matter, the entire hotel was spotless. The location was perfect. Numerous dining establishments, as well as fabulous shopping, were within walking distance. Their breakfast was also a pleasant surprise, quite a large assortment.
