“Cafe Cimino is a unique labor of love”

Chef Tim and his lovely wife Melanie have created a unique five star experience in the heart of West Virginia. The Inn is just perfect, offering a historic feel and leaving you feeling like you are in their home. I haven't slept as well as I did at Cafe Cimino Country Inn that night thanks to the amazing bed and setting.

The culinary experience is another experience in itself. We had an amazing dinner prepared by Chef Tim's team and it was like rediscovering food. The breakfast is also enjoyable and hearty.

My favorite spot was the bar which is separate from the main house. Overlooking the river, we sat on the porch with pistachio liqueur and a good cigar enjoying the cool evening.

This is a unique experience for anyone who loves life.

“Go even if you have to drive out of your way to get there!”

On Sunday, October 30, 2011, my wife and lodged at the Café Cimino Country Inn. We were returning home from the Washington, D.C., area and diverted there because we were intrigued by the uniqueness of this establishment. In addition to being a bed & breakfast, this facility includes a professional restaurant that is open to the public as well as its guests and features Italian cuisine. The restaurant is closed on Sundays, but the host and head chef Tim prepares dinners on that day exclusively for his lodgers. We had a very good dinner served by our hostess Melody, who is Tim’s wife, which started with large antipasti that included a caprese salad, a variety cheeses, Italian ham, peppers, and olives. For our entrées my wife had the stuffed chicken breast and I had the trout. Our meal was accompanied by an excellent Chardonnay. The house is old but well restored, charming, and beautifully decorated. Our room was very clean and comfortable. For breakfast we were each served fresh fruits, a quiche, a fried polenta triangle, and scones. All of it was very delicious, and we are still talking about the scones! Tim and Melody were very friendly, gracious and accommodating. They were great hosts who have very interesting backgrounds that they shared with us. We had a wonderful time, so check it out even if you have to drive out of your way to get there.

Hello travelers and thank you so much for taking the time to write this lovely review! We appreciate that you are helping other travelers choose us as a nice place to stay over and have a great meal! Your description made me hungry just reading it...think I'll go have Chef Tim whip something up for me! We love our Sunday and Monday guests because it gives us time to connect with them in a very laid back and personal way. It's as if you come to "visit" us on Sundays and Mondays. But please come any day of the week! Tuesdays through Saturdays we have all of our staff on board and they are wonderful and engaging as well:) Happy travels and please stop by again the next time we are "on your way"...or maybe one day we can be your "destination"! thanks again! Melody

“A Treasure In The Middle Of West Virginia”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 November 2011

My husband and I have stopped at Cafe Cimino Country Inn many times for dinner, but decided to stop for the night on our travels north. We stayed in the Benjamin Room in the Carriage House. The room is nicely decorated and very comfortable. I loved the rich plum colored walls and thick bedding. Our room overlooked the Inn's yard and was very private.
The owners, Tim and Melody Urbanic, welcomed every visitor to Cafe Cimino as did the warm fire in the historic main house's fireplace. Our waitress, Melissa, was very attentive and helpful in making our dinner selections.
We enjoyed our dinner as usual. We had a Caprese Salad and Caesar Salad and shared a creamy ham and bean soup. I had Chicken San Marzano, chicken breast stuffed with Fontina cheese and Prosciutto ham with a creamy white mushroom sauce. My husband loved his lasagna, one of the specials that evening. We also shared a rich chocolate torte for dessert.
A fresh cooked breakfast of quiche, bacon, scones, muffins and fruit was included with the room. Make sure you don't miss it!
We will be back soon Tim and Melody.

“What a wonderful treat for all the senses!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 October 2011

We wanted a weekend away and I booked us a night at the b&b as well as an hour with the Chef Tim Urbanic as he discussed the efforts he has made to serve quality foods with local origins as much as possible. On the forefront of this local foods trend, he prepares dishes that are superbly presented and deliciously prepared. We enjoyed a 5 course dinner complimented with West Virginia wines. Service was friendly and attentive, Both Tim and Melody checked on us often. The restaurant was active and a local guitarist played softly. The room was large and beautifully furnished. The bed was one of the most comfortable away from my own. We will be back!

Wow! Thank you so much for 1.) being such a good writer, and 2.) understanding and communicating what Chef Tim is doing here at Cafe Cimino Country Inn. We are so pleased that you, being the obvious "foodies" that you are, enjoyed your dinner, your talk with the Chef and your overnight stay! Thanks so much for making the effort to share with the TripAdvisor world that they should come stay with us!

“Perfect B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 September 2011

Sutton, WV may be in the middle of nowhere, this the Cafe Cimino is a diamond in the rough! A wonderfully restored century-old farmhouse and outbuildings, it is prefect for a B&B. Hosts Meoldy and Jim (and their golden retriever Maggie-May) are charming! We stayed in the Annabella room, which had its own balcony overlooking the Elk river - very relaxing. After an 8-hour drive from South Carolina (on our way home to Ontario), th chance to relax there with a bottle of excellent wine was most welcome. The little pub by the river was very enjoyable, but the best part must have been the exquisite dinner. An overflowing antipasto platter, which was amazing, was followed by even more amazing pasta with smoked salmon, home-made gnocchi, fetucinni, and wonderful tmoto sauce - there was nothing left on our plates! The breakfast was also very good with frittata, polenta, and unique pepered and smoked bacon - all fro miether their own gargen or local farms. A wonderful getaway. Too bad WVU lost to LSU that night...
