“Pleasant surprise”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 November 2010

My family was brought to town because of a wedding. We decided to get two rooms to accommodate our children and grandchildren and have a "mini" vacation in our overnight stay. The rooms were spacious, the pool clean and inviting and the complimentary breakfast was excellent, with a broader range of food than we would have expected. The staff were helpful and pleasant and accommodated our request for a late checkout. We were able to swim with the children, ages 5-12, twice while we were there. This is is a little gem of a place and I must say that we were pleasantly surprised!

“Best hotel in Prosser”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 October 2010

The staff was friendly, the rooms were clean, and the price made it a good value. We were in town for the Balloon Festival and the place was crowded but we enjoyed our stay. Hit the grocery store because the restaurants in Prosser leave A LOT to be desired.

“A Small Town Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 September 2010

My husband and I accompanied several out-of-town family members (ranging in age from 14-65) to a family reunion in this small town. One thing you will notice in Prosser is that this Best Western appears to be the newest of the hotels, the others in the city appearing - at least on the outside - rather old and run-down.

Overall, this is a pretty standard Best Western. The rooms are spacious, the location is near a truck stop with fast food restaurants, as well as a small strip with a Starbucks and a couple of local shops. The free breakfast is one of the best I have seen with regard to variety (biscuits and gravy, fruits, yogurts, waffles, breads, coffee, milk and juice), and they have a nice little pool/hot tub that they gladly left open late, so that our family could continue to swim after hours. Speaking of the staff, they are very polite, easy-going and willing to help.

The furniture and general decor of the rooms are all quite out-dated; the mattress was fairly awful, but when you're only paying around $95/night, I suppose that's par for the course! My suggestion is to bring your own pillow, deal with the mattress and be superbly grateful for the excellent breakfast opportunities that await you in the morning!

“Comfortable and clean”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 August 2010

The room was basic, 2 queen beds, but clean. They had a nice continental breakfast included. They have a swimming pool available, also. The staff was very nice.

“Best option within 30 miles”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 May 2010

I've stayed at the Prosser Best Western Inn at Horse Heaven numerous times over the years and it is still the best option within 30 miles. I say 30 miles because that's about how far it is to Yakima or Tri-Cities (Richland, Kennewick, Pasco) where there are numerous hotels to chose from which I have not explored.

They have a good fresh breakfast, solid wi-fi internet connections in all rooms. I haven't tried the indoor or outdoor pool but they do look inviting. My secret tip for my fellow TripAdvisor readers should help you make your stay even more enjoyable. There is nice plastic tray in your room (look under the coffee maker). Take that tray with you when you go down for the continental breakfast. Then you can bring your breakfast back to your room and check your emails, weather and road conditions before hitting the road. They also have good cable tv coverage with CNN, Fox, etc. as well as a couple local stations from the Tri-Cities and Yakima.

I always request a room along the backside of the hotel, away from the freeway. This may seem obvious but ..... there is an eighteen-wheeler truck parking area adjacent to the hotel which can be the source of noise at sun-rise when the truckers start their engines and roll out. I always use earplugs because I'm a light sleeper anyway so it isn't a problem for me usually.

And finally, there is a nice paved walking/running/biking trail which extends westward from Prosser to Grandview and beyond. You can get to this trail, just follow the sidewalk a few hundred yards to the southwest of the hotel. It passes along the south side of the arterial road that connects downtown Prosser to the I-82 freeway.
