This hotel is something that someones grandparents may have enjoyed. The rooms were so outdated, in another 5 years they may be retro type of cool. The furniture in the room looked like they went to garage sales to find any old style mish mash end tables and cabinets. Also the beds... a inner spring matress that new 15 yrs ago may have been 6" thick is now thinner than a Dominoes pizza! My wife and child slept on a blanket we had. She was ready to have us drive 6 hours home at 9pm when we arrived from "the feel" of the place. All in all, if you are elderly, broke or have no sense of self worth then it will be just fine for the price. If you like not feeling icky and a sore back the next day pay another hotel $10-20 more for a decent place 10 minutes up the road...

My husband & I spent 4 days at the Auld Holland Inn in Oak Harbor, Wa. to vacation & look for potential retirement homes in the area. Although older and outdated, the hotel was clean & comfortable. Nothing fancy, but clean,comfortable & safe. It was on a main road, but was relatively quiet. There was also a simple breakfast provided each morning. For the price ($59/night 2 doubles), who could complain? The location of the hotel was also very convenient for our purposes.

We have had the pleasure of staying at the Auld Holland Inn on numerous occasions over the last couple years. The rooms are decorated with antique furniture and are delightful, very clean and the staff (especially at check in) are AWESOME! We would recommend staying here whenever you are on beautiful Whidbey Island.

Stayed recently, and it was Great!! I know a great many newer hotels that don't have the accomidations that this one does. It is the lowest rate in town, the staff is very friendly, it is very clean, and has a lot of history and local culture tied to it. It is a little outdated, but for the price you can't beat it! Would definately recommend.
