“Perfect spot”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 October 2006

We had a family reunion here in August. The cabins were clean and tastefully decorated. Prices were reasonable. This spot is beautiful and quiet even though you are just off the hiway. There is quite a bit of shade to give you a break from the sun and right by the river if you want to cool off. The food in the restaurant is great. Everyone is friendly, from Gil the manager and his family and the cleaning crew too. Many in our party said they will return to stay here again.

  • Liked — friendly accomodating management and staff
  • Disliked — needs easier walk down to river for older/disabled people

“Awesome RV Resort”

We love this place. It was our first time here and the new owner is very friendly and helpful. We arrived after dark and he greeted us, showed us our site and hooked up our RV. The rate was very reasonable at $24.00 for water, elec and cable per night. We were on the river with a view of Squaw Rock. Our site was clean, had a nice fire pit and picnic table. We did not use the pool but it looked very clean. We saw it being cleaned every morning and a cover on it every night. The store, a 1929 beauty with wood floors, had everything you may need or want. The restaurant looked updated recently, very clean and bright. The waitress was friendly and gave good service. We had breakfast there and it was excellent. The menu had breakfast, lunch, dinner, beer, wine and appetizers. This resort is exactly that peaceful, relaxing and friendly. We will make this a regular vacation spot.

“Dirty - eek!”

Not too clean......During our two day stay, no garbage cans were ever emptied which lead to trash piled all around outside. The owners insist on a leash law for all dogs - except their own which was chasing the bunnies and growling at children, pooping everywhere, and drinking out of the pool. And this is a German Shepherd! When we said something, they said not to worry about it and that the children were needlessly frightened. We stayed in the mobile home which was quite possibly the dirtiest, stinkiest place I've ever seen. Spiders and ants in the beds, major cobwebs everywhere, filthy carpet, etc. However, having said that, the pool area, the river and the bunnies made for a fun time. We went as a group and the rest of the group stayed in the cabins and motels which were clean and nicely decorated. I will go again, but won't stay in the mobile home - not even if it were free. Hopefully I just went at a bad time?

First, our sincere apologies that your experience at Squaw Rock was less than pleasant for you and your family. My husband and I are actually the newest owners of the resort (we took over last year), and have changed all of the things that you were displeased with, as well as made many more improvements. We hope that if you are ever in the area again you will give Squaw Rock another chance, and we hope this finds you well!
Sincerely,
Jenifer and Robin Rodgers

“Nice Place To Relax”

Squaw Rock Resort is my favorite place to relax and enjoy the outdoors. My grandchildren love the pool and watching the bunnies run around. The owners are friendly and always make me feel welcome. It is a clean, safe place to sit around the campfire, soak in the hot tub or cool off in the pool. Its also nice to have the store and restaraunt close for things we forget to bring. If I could I would be there every weekend. In fact thats where you will find me this weekend along with my children and grandchildren.
