Okay imagine you have had a long day of traveling and a busy cat show. You are tired , hungry and you walk into the lobby of the La Quinta to check in and are greeted with the smell of fresh baked cookies. I think this was one of the best welcomes I had ever received at a hotel. On top of that the woman checking me in was one of the friendliest front desk persons I have ever met. I had a problem with my credit card, and she was so patient and helpful.
The hotel is located right off of the freeway, but you would not know it. The hotel sits in a nice groove of trees with the trees covering the freeway which keeps the room nice and quiet. The hotel is conveniently located by several restaurants, super markets and a movie theater. The room was perfect. The beds were comfortable. The rooms size was just right with enough room for my stuff and my cats, and the room was nice and clean.
Make sure you bring your suit because the hot tub was really nice. Nice and hot which felt perfect after a long day.
The breakfast in the morning was great with some extra bonus breakfast items like waffles and omelets you could heat in the microwave. The breakfast area was pretty busy, but they kept everything well stocked and there was room for everyone. They even continued their great service at check out. I forgot not one but two things in the room, and a different friendly and helpful desk person issued me a key twice with a smile.
I will be back in this area for other cat shows and am going to use this hotel again. I cannot wait for those cookies.

We traveled with friends, Both of our rooms smelled, had to use Lysol to help the room smell a little better, but did not help totally. Old furnishings, haggered and ratty looking bedskirts, dirty carpets, bathrooms was somewhat clean, but very old. Made me want to wear my socks when walking around the bathroom and room. It was very quiet, and had a woodsey location. But the Front desk staff was very nice and lobby was not as bad as our rooms.

The TV doesn't work in our room at all. Seems like something that should be pretty basic. Pretty sad.

Great location for the area. Rooms on the small side, but property has very good amenities. Some wiping down needed to be done as something was splashed all over wall behind desk and fridge door smeared with prints, but otherwise clean. Cheap soap/shampoo. I had been upgraded to a better room on arrival, but right across from the elevator and as I am a regular traveler who typically requests a quiet room, this would not do with the loud elevator bell double dinging all night. I was downgraded to a small room and not given my "welcome gift" (bottle of water.) As I was there multiple nights I requested that evening and in the morning (different staff) to be moved when a better room became available. The 2nd night I was standing there waiting for my de-activated card keys to be re-activated when I heard her say she had 2 of that room type left. The lot was half empty the 3rd night and I was never upgraded. I was locked out of my room a 2nd time with non-functioning card keys and the guy at the desk was unapologetic and attitudinal about it both times. They were almost 10 minutes late with the cookies even with a group of guests sitting there waiting for them. They need to tighten up a little on customer service especially for rewards members, but overall ok.
