“Gross”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 August 2010

We were given room 131. It was very late at night, we were tired, and there was nothing else available between Hoquim and Ocean Shores, so we weren't in the mood to be picky. However, that was the absolute most disgusting hotel room I've ever seen. There were stains on the mattress, couch, and linens. Holes in the bedspread, burn marks in the carpet. The kitchen had someone's food still in the cupboards, as well as pots and pans with caked on food on them. The couch had a large, dark red, stain on the arm. There was a dried white substance spattered over the bedroom door.

We left, asked for our money back, and drove into Olympia rather than stay there. I can't believe that a place is allowed to stay in business in that condition.

“Drive past this dump”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 August 2010

We got the corner kitchenette suite. Room rate was $149 plus taxes, not stated until after credit card swiping. Last room in town apparently? Room and front desk service had several major deficiencies:

(1) the kitchen floor had a persistent puddle of water in front of the refrigerator.
(2) the internet did not work inside the room (only on the balcony).
(3) when we approached the front desk person abut the internet inadequacy, the person there (male, of southern Asian descent) got frustrated and actually tried to make us go away by shoving a sign in front of him stating "the front desk is temporarily closed" or something very close to this effect.
(4) the room has never experienced a renovation.
(5) pubic hairs in shower.

Do yourself a favor and drive on past this dump. I wish I had checked prior reviews, as most of them appear to be spot on.

“Horrible”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 August 2010

Would not want to take my young child there again. There are some questionable long term tenants, people in the parking lot and around the back of the building all hours of the night. The room was dirty, the sheets had stains on them, the showers mildew, stale smell in the room. The breakfast in the lobby was a joke (the sign says you can't take any food to your room), we went across the street to the grocery store for our own food, so we could eat in peace. I noticed that the website advertised multilingual, but what language? The spanish speaking couple we saw in the lobby sure were struggling with customer service. All in all, I would never stay there again, definitely talk anyone else out of staying there, am disappointed that this place even calls itself Econolodge.

“Pets rooms are dirty, with stained carpets!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 July 2010

We needed a place to stay that would take pets, for the night. We were planning on stopping for a one night stay over at Ocean Shore, but it was all booked, found this hotel on-line under pet friendly. When we checked in the woman at the front counter was very friendly, and check in was a breeze. When we went to go to are room, as soon as we approached the door, the dog in the room next door started barking, and didnt stop,( until 10:30 that night!). We opened the door to find a run down, old, dirty, smelly room with stained carpets, that looked like pets had went to the bathroom, but no one bother to clean (we kept are shoes on the whole time) A few words that come to mind are, Old, dirty, un-kept, smelly. after complaining, we got a reduced price. We checked out the next day, and never plan to go back!

“Keep on driving!!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 July 2010

My husband and I stayed here as we wanted to explore the coast and not have to pay thru the nose to stay on the ocean. I would have much rather have stayed at the ocean!! The surrouding neighborhood is VERY run down and looks more industrial than anything. The boy (he was MAYBE 16 at the most!) behind the counter took forever to find my reservation (I booked it online unforunately) and when I finally got my room key he started to argue with who I can only guess is his father about us checking in early even though we called hours ahead of time to see if it was ok. The woman who answered the phone had said that it was fine. We parked our truck and went up to our room. Now don't get me wrong..the rooms ARE large..but other than that. We asked for a queen bed and it was more like a full. The comforter was thread bare and the mattress felt more like sleeping on the floor it was that thin. The water pressure in the shower is MUCH to be admired. If you ran around you MIGHT have gotten a shower in. The carpet was disgusting. I wore white socks that quickly turned a dark grey by the end of the first night. The air conditioner went off and on (and not quietly!) Across the parking lot from us was a bunch of early teenaged kids who yelled and did who knows what else throughout the evening until about midnight. We found out the second day that we were there that someone had put something on the hood of our truck that left a very large dent & scratch in it. When we mentioned this to management they just shrugged and said that they couldn't do anything about it. We had booked the room for 2 nights and only stayed 1 1/2. When we went to checkout the guy was obviously ticked off at we were leaving at 1 in the morning and that we'd woken him up.
