“There's probably better choices”

We rented from Mt. Baker Cabins. The reservation web site was not up to date so the first Cabin we thought we were renting was unavailable. We were assigned a different house, which was fine except the hot tub wouldn't get hot, the oven was broken and unusable and the fridge broke while we were there. They couldn't get us a grill so our only cooking was on the stove top. They couldn't get anyone over to look at the fridge so we had to keep our food in coolers on the deck. To use the wi-fi that they said they have, you have to sit in the parking lot of the community center, which as a guest you can't use. We asked for a small refund of $100 for all the inconvience and never heard back from them again. There's plenty of other places to rent in the area, don't go here.

“Nice cabin close to Mt. Baker”

A group of 10 of us stayed in the Whistler cabin for a long weekend. It's a nice, comfortable clean house in a gated community just east of Glacier, WA. I would reccommend the cabin to others though with a few warnings. The kitchen was great and though missing a can opener, everything else was fairly new! The cabin is supposed to sleep 10 but that includes a pull out couch bed which can hardly be considered a place to sleep! Also, they have Direct TV but they have subscribed to very few channels... at least a list telling us which ones were available would have been nice so we didn't have to guess. The hot tub was green upon arrival. We don't think they had put chemicals in for awhile. It would be worth the money for this cabin if the hot tub was usable - it was one of the main reasons why we chose this place to stay - so we could warm ourselves after a long day of skiing and snowboarding. Overall, a nice cabin. I would return (with a working hot tub!)

“Wonderful Getaway!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2008

I have been staying at the baker b&b for about four years now. Every year i go back they make it feel like home to me. They started out cooking breakfast, and then in the last year or so they moved to a traditional style of letting us cook food that they had in a convenient location outside the rooms. Jaque and Vel are very real people and treat my friends and I like family whenver we can make it up there to the wonderful resort of Mt. Baker. It was really nice to have the food available to us when we got in around 1 a.m and we were really hungry, lucky for us there were bagels and a toaster; so we fired up the toaster and stepped into our room and we burnt the bagel. OH NO! Yeah it was a catastrophe and kinda funny at the same time. This girl comes running out of the room next to us all frazeled and really mad at us, but we ate and got up in the morning and went to the mountain to have a great day. When we returned we found out that the couple that had been disturbed wrote Vel a really mean letter and refused to pay for their nights stay and said they could have stayed at a motel six for half the price ( too bad the motel six is sixty miles away and not in the mountains like this beautiful retreat). We were amazed but we will continue to stay at this wonderfly enchanting place. Take it from me, everyone should want to stay here and feel so close to the mountain and the community.

Thank You;
Tyson Chinery
