Show lessThe Carriage House has been updated since you have stayed here back in November of 2012. It is very important to Skiff Point Guest House & Retreat that our guests enjoy their visit and are comfortable. This suite you stayed in which was in need of a heater replacement "so sorry it was loud". Since you have stayed here in November this suite has had heaters replaced and the kitchen has been upgraded with a brand new kitchen appliances. There is also a new light fixture and ceiling fan in the master bedroom. This suite is currently getting updated with a new beds including up in the loft so there will be two very comfortable queen size beds! There is also a new flat screen television and a blue ray player. There is currently many updates being done to this suite with new window treatments, an additional ceiling fan in the living room and much more.... I would recommend you try our other suite which has been updated and has a fantastic view! There are two suites here and the rates are very comparable to other lodging on Bainbridge Island.
Skiff Point Guest House strives to please our guests so they feel like they are enjoying themselves and are surrounded by nice amenities as well as enjoying the view. Come see what new changes we have done with the suites..... It is a lovely place!!
Skiff Guest House has very strict cancellation rules. If you need to cancel 30 days in advance you will be charged an 80.00 fee - plus! We needed to cancel a week before because work would not permit leaving at that particular time. Skiff Point Guest House graciously kept our 900 dollars fee - NO REFUND! You need to send a check in advance they will not accept credit cards (big red flag!!!) and sign a contract stating these conditions. My advice is I'll just bet there are plenty of other places to choose from instead of getting hung up with a contract for your vacation.
It is unfortunate when things get cancelled. At Skiff Point Guest House I am always happy to accomodate the Guest in anyway I can. Eventhough a reservation was cancelled and notice was given less then the days stated, Skiff Point Guest House will work with you in re-scheduling your vacation and happy to do so.
We stayed in the carriage house from 5-7 August 2011. Had a wonderful time. Carriage House had everything you could need and the owner and her daughter could not have been any nicer.
If only the weather hadn't been so bad for our entire stay! We stayed in the loft, which was well equipped and cozy, and the perfect size for a couple. Everything was spotless. You do need to be prepared to climb up and down the ladder to the bedroom, so if you've got a fear of heights, stay in the other suite. :) My husband thought the bed was a bit too soft though it was ok for me. Jan, the owner, was accommodating and helpful as we booked from overseas, and has made the place quite comfortable and homey.
My husband and I were looking for a place to stay for our first time away from our young daughters. I wanted to be close to home but still feel like we were far away and Skiff Point was the ideal place to stay. Our loft was super clean and the bed was pure comfort. Jan, the proprietor, is a lovely woman who emailed us great information on everything we needed to know about visiting Bainbridge Island. We look forward to returning to Skiff Point Guest House for our next weekend getaway.
Perfect place to stay if you want quiet, comfort, and room to move around. The carriage house has a comfortable bedroom, nice living area, well equipped kitchen. It was immaculately clean! Balcony overlooking Puget Sound with a view of the Seattle skyline. Wonderful breakfast of fruit, bagels and muffins in the refrigerator for our first morning. Beautiful island with great shopping and restaurants. Easy access to Seattle and the Olympic peninsula. Would go back in a heartbeat.
