“Best B&B Ever Stayed in!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2009

This B&B was the best B&B we have ever stayed in - we have travelled the world and stayed in many places - Villa Italia is highly recommended by us! The hosts, Marzia and Andrea are wonderful and you feel as if you are visiting friends and staying in their home - so friendly and welcoming. Both are great cooks and you can have authentic Italian meals pasta or pizzas cooked in the tradtional way in a ceremic fire-oven - in the garden. Breakfast is superb as well. Our room, the Milano was very well presented comfortable, and very clean - very high standard. Andrea even took us into the garden at night and showed us the stars - including the Milky Way, in the morning he took us to the Chicken house to choose freshly laid eggs (which we saw actually lay!) for breakfast. Overall, we cannot fault the place - definately stay here if you get the chance.

“the full Italian experience”

This B&B is now renamed "Villa Italia" with a husband and wife team from Milan who are fantastic company and great cooks (hands-on learning the art of pizza making and breads in the outdoor oven). The owners are so enthusiastic and great fun. Rooms are very tastfully done - its just a shame we had only one night. We booked it on wotif at the last minute - what a find we will be back!

“Perfect Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 October 2007

We usually don't stay at B&Bs, but we are sure glad we stayed at the Kingfisher. David and Marie greeted us on arrival. This was our first stop after flying into NZ. West wing room was new and comfortable. David turned the heater on to take off the chill. We cleaned up and had tea with them as they explained the city, gave reccomendations for food and sights, and talked about their history. They both were very accomidating and had breakfast ready when we requested. David even made my husband his hot breakfast! Nice array of cold cereals, fruits, juice, and coffee. Some of the best toast ever :) Bed was comfortable, some coffee/tea, a few DVDs in room. Marie even did a load of our wash, thanks! Thanks for having us, it was wonderful. Lauren and Scott, Austin Texas.

“Great Little B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 October 2006

The Kingfisher B&B is a great place for a weekend retreat or a longer stay. David and Marie make you feel very much at home and will book restaurants, excursions or whatever you need. I'd advise taking advantage of this on public holidays when Kerikeri closes.

The room was very spacious and very well appointed with DVD player, stereo and had the weather been better we would have taken advantage of the outdoor area. It's nice to stay in a B&B that isn't chintz and twee.

It is a short drive from town (5 minutes) but the setting is lovely.
