We loved it here - we were warmly welcomed by John who genuinely seemed very pleased to see us! Our room was very nice - very light, not huge but very comfortable and well decorated. We enjoyed 'Happy Hour' with John (we were the only guests) where we tasted some lovely NZ wines and delicious canapes. John was exceptionally helpful and recommeded a restaurant for dinner and actually dropped us off there too! Breakfast was beautifully cooked by John (his wife was in visiting UK) and the eggs benedict were perfect and tasted ever betting for being able to eat them outside.
Dora the cat is quite a feature - she walks all the way from town each morning, spends the day at The Old Manse until her owner picks her up in the evening! She is clearly used to lots of attention from cat loving guests! Although a little out of the town centre it's really nice to walk into town, it's such a quiet place and perfect for hiring a bike to cycle around the wineries which are all quite close together. We would definatley recommend staying here.
