Yering Gorge Cottages are very well appointed, modern and quiet. They are situated in a very scenic area, abundant in wildlife and on the main wine route. The cottages, although self-catering, are well stocked with a great range of breakfast goodies, fresh bread daily and a variety of beverages in their honesty fridge. Their wine selection is great, as is their complimentary DVD selection in the Reception building. Ross and his team manage the property extremely well and are great hosts. Our overall experience was nothing short of fantastic.

I surprised my wife with a romantic weekend getaway to wine country staying at Yering Gorge Cottages, and it was great!
The cottages are very well equipped, modern and spacious. The grounds are well-kept and the owners are friendly and helpful.
The Cottages are tucked right at the back of the Yering property in a quiet corner right near the river. It’s very peaceful and quiet, lots of wildlife.
The owners leave out a fresh loaf of bread and paper each morning, and the cottage comes equipped with fresh fruit, tea, coffee, juice, jams and spreads.
We stayed in the Sugarloaf cottage which is perfect for two. The cottage has a huge modern bathroom with a spa bath, large living area with a wood fireplace and a fully stocked kitchen.
We can also recommend a winery tour with Wild Wombat Winery Tours. The owner Yvette took my wife and me on a full day trip around the top wineries with the final stop at a microbrewery.
Yvette was great, very friendly and knowledgeable on all wineries and wines in the Yarra Valley region. Highly recommended. [---]

We stayed for two nights and was sceptical at first. But it turned out much better beyond our expectations! The cottages looked brand new and were very clean and well maintained!! The space inside the cottage is well planned out and very functional.

Its in a nice secluded part of the Yarra Valley, with great scenic views and ample wildlife that is simply a thrill to behold. It's private enough for great quality time, with the cottages spaced well apart. We really wished we had planned for a longer stay.

Its modern, luxurious comfort, spacious yet cosy. The spa bath was great and so was the front porch with the barbecue grill. For quiet winter nights, there is always the dvd, with a good selection of movies and a real fireplace to keep you occupied. It is rather nice to just snuggle up on the sofa with a glass of wine.

It is not too far from the Yarra Glen town if you need to stock up on basic groceries, even if you dont drive. Cabs are easily available.

I had done alot of research on places in the area, and this sounded the best - close to wineries, yet private and amongst wildlife. It was exactly what we were looking for - self-contained accomodation where we could kick back and relax. The cottage (yarraview) is very tastefully decorated and has all the amenities needed for a wonderful stay. As it was approaching 40 degrees while we were there, the air con was a blessing after a day of wine and cheese tasting. We had plenty of room to spread out and it really felt like home. There is internet available (if you REALLY need to stay connected).

Do get up early to see the kangaroos- it is a wonderful sight!

The only gripe I would have is the mountain bikes they have available to use - they are pretty junky. We used them to do the Warburton trail (must do) and my husband's bike couldn't change gears at all and the seat kept slipping down. We also had flat tires right away.
I would TOTALLY recommend this accomodation to a couple looking to relax and take in nature.
