We stayed for 2 nights in this place, with purpose to visit the great ocean road (which to our disappointment is in fact most of the time 'not that close to the Ocean'..), luckily this place made all good, even the rain.. Indeed the cottage has a fantastic view on the ocean out of your bedroom, the window sitting corner is very cozy, you get a free hamper with some sweets and breakfast stuff, there is an open fire, BBQ on the terrace and yes we found some koala's on our way up to the shed (where the laundry is situated).
This place is indeed really romantic and quiet, downside to mention is that we didn't see the owners (just had a few - appreciated - calls to check out if everything was ok) ; the only one-person spa bath and not providing any bathrobes.. (both last points would have made it complete).

Wow! That's the reaction I got when I first arrived at this place. Truly, after reading the first two reviews here, I went to try it for myself and boy was I absolutely blown away by this place. If you're looking at the price and thinking is it worth it, I can tell you now that this was the best "value" place I stayed along the entire Great Ocean Drive.

You wake up to ocean views right in front of your eyes, the place has a fireplace with free wood etc. that makes it so quaint, the host provided an amazing, excellent and comprehensive goody bag, the place is tucked away to achieve maximum privacy and peace will still being so convenient and accessible, the master bed is gorgeous, the pull down bed in the living room is brilliant, the corner with cushions is marvellous! Wow!

This is what I'll call a hidden gem and I'm giving this place full marks. It's probably the best place I've stayed in all my trips to WA, Queensland, Tassie, NSW and Victoria. Will definately be back!

Our second visit to Points South was just as good if not better than the first... We enjoy the quiet solitude of the location... the starry skies at night and the sound of the ocean breaking near by...

The amenities are very good... a Webber BBQ on the sheltered balcony... and there is good coffee and breakfast or lunch to have at Wye River and there are also some very good restaurants at Apollo Bay

a loveley window seat to watch the world go slowly by or curl up with a nice glass of wine and a good book or sit in front of the fire...

We even had whales of the beach on the morning of our last day... what a wonderful good bye... There are even Koalas on the driveway leading up to mainhouse..

We have recently returned from our sixth visit to Points South within 2 years.
The views are incredible, the window seat sublime, the open fire crackling, the bathroom beautiful, the kitchen and deck fabulous and the best night's sleep in a heavenly king size bed.
Bryan and Joan are the perfect hosts, there if you need anything but never intrusive.
The property is gorgeous and we always enjoy spotting the very calm koalas.
No whales this visit, but there have been plenty on previous occasions as well as spectactulor storms with excellent lightening shows that lit up the cottage at night.
Couldn't recommend Points South more highly
