“The perfect getaway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

We throughly enjoyed the overall experience of this fabulous location. I can't say enough about the exceptional service and the quality of the hotel from the superb food to the comfortable beds and amazing views. The staff were very friendly, accommodating and professional. Dietary requirements were no problem and even separate menus were printed for each of us detailing the personalised menu! My husband took a mountain bike out for a ride and we both enjoyed relaxing spa treatments.

You can also drive up there for the day for lunch and enjoy a spa treatment or two!

Highly recommended.

“Serene and amazing...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 January 2012

We recently spent Christmas at Spicers Peak Lodge as part of our honeymoon and it was one of the highlights of our whole trip. The setting is idyllic with breathtaking views and lush farmland all around. The staff was so kind and attentive. They truly made us and the rest of the guests feel like a part of their family, which was particularly nice over a holiday weekend. The lodge is warm and inviting, while spacious enough to have privacy. The food was absolutely fantastic - some of the best we had on our entire trip - and the staff was very accommodating to our food limitations. They even packed us the most amazing breakfast when we had to leave early to catch a flight! We also enjoyed a wonderful hike while being serenaded by the roaming cattle throughout the property. All in, a perfect retreat for locals, but well worth taking the gorgeous drive into the countryside for out of town visitors as well.

“Worth it”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 December 2011

Our second visit. Still excellent service - staff are quality, nothing is impossible. Food is very good. On first visit found room noisy. This visit - opposite wing, same room - could still hear neighbours talking, music and high heels on wooden floor. This disrupted afternoon nap. But a great place with great people.

“Indulgent R&R”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 December 2011

Spicers Peak Lodge is a spectacular experience from every angle. The physical setting is superb, as are the human elements: the building is tasteful, the food is the best we have enjoyed at any resort and the staff are the most professional we have encountered...to a person they were extremely competent and interested in us and our desires in a genuine, understated way. We went for some R&R after a busy year...mission accomplished!

“Seriously Indulgent - seriously relaxing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 November 2011

Seriously gorgeous - friends took me as a birthday treat. The food is spectacular as are the surroundings. The main lodge where you have meals is gorgeous - spacious yet somehow intimate and cosy. Did I mention the food?
We stayed in a 2 bedroom two story lodge on the escarpment - so beautifully appointed, you wish home could be that cool and chic. We enjoyed the complimentary Veuve, Crown etc from the mninbar before dinner. More of the same for pre-dinner drinks. Between the clean country air and the wines served with the degustation menu we all slept like proverbial logs.
The angus cattle roaming in the paddocks on our walk up for breakfast added to a sense of tranquility.
On paper its expensive but 3 fantastic meals per day and alcohol means the bigger expense is probably the gym visits to shed the weight! Go ... seriously!
