Just back from our second visit to Bestbrook with friends and again can say we were not disappointed. This is a good clean family camping experience and a great time was had by the whole family. An excellent camping experience for the kids and adults alike.
We spent a week on the farm, days were spent:
- feeding the farm animals and milking the cows,
- a wagon ride around the property which involved learning how to throw a boomerang, how to crack a whip, how to make damper over the fire and concluded with billy tea;
- horse riding lessons and subsequent trail ride;
- 4WD/ trail bike riding
- kids riding their bikes
- chopping and gathering firewood (there was lots of it)
- afternoons in the pool or drinks and nibbles around the creek.
Nights were spent
- having a drink at the homestead
- siting around the campfire
- roasting marshmallows
The property is by no means 5 star in accomodation or facilities, but it is not meant to be, it is not a hotel - It is a farm. It is a bush experience. You are surrounded by dogs, horses, ponys, cows and animals in general. But that is all part of the camping / farm experience and that is why we were there.
We had a powered site so were able to bring some luxuries such as a kettle and fridge. There are port a loos which are the cleanest port a loos I have ever seen. There are also basic shower/toilet blocks for those who want to shower. All were cleaned daily. There is also a good sized pool. Fresh water readily available. The homestead does meals and sells basics such as bread, milk, eggs, ice creams and ice for esky's. Warwick is about 30mins drive away if you need a mid week grocery shop.
Very friendly and helpful owners / employees.
All in all, we loved it and will definately go back. Highly recommend to those who love to camp and get outdoors, with the added convenience of basic but clean ammenities.
Room Tip: Accomodation is camping or cabins.
