“Beautiful views but lack of service not an incentive to stay ever again”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 January 2012

Upon arrival we were expecting a penthouse which I had reserved in October. I had the emails from the managing staff in hand but was told that the room wasn't available. No discount or explanation given.
The room is modern and clean but given only one towel per person and there was a huge dead beetle on floor. Yikes! The view was nice, beach right across the street. Please note that if you come during the peak season make tour reservations early. Not much to do in town or on beaches so make plans for tours early. Cute little town to walk around in. Unfortunately lack of service at hotel will ensure we won't ever recommend or come back.

Hello, While it is disappointing to receive such a review, all feedback is appreciated. We were surprised to read your concerns, and take them very seriously. We apologise that we are unable to investigate and respond appropriately as we have no ability to check the specific details due to the anonymity that this site provides a reviewer. Should you wish to contact us directly, with your details, we would be more than happy to investigate the circumstances and provide you with a response. Beetles, dead or alive, are unfortunately a fact of life in Queensland. Again, we feel we need to explain to our international visitors, we are not a Hotel, and hence do not claim to provide the same facilites and services as a Hotel i.e. daily servicing. We are self-contained apartments which provide you with exceptional space, full kitchen and laundry facilities, balconies and a 'drop dead georgeous view'!
Kind regards,

“Great base to see the turtles at Mon Repos”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 December 2011

We stayed here for 3 nights to see the turtles which is a must see as far as I am concerned! BUT book in advance as you definately do want to be in group 1!!! And take wet weather gear with you as you will be on an unsheltered beach for a long time. We had a nice comfortable stay at these units that are close to a sand beach and have pleasant walks in either direction. The location is unbeatable but in general I thought the units themselves could have been a bit better. Maybe I am being picky but I don't particularly want to see dust on furniture or dirty hand prints on the patio doors and shower screens.
In short:
Pros-great location across from the ocean, close to shops and restaurants, short drive to supermarket, Bundie city, Mon Repos for the turtles, undercover security parking, modern and comfortable apartments, comfortable beds, quiet apart from kids using pool which is only to be expected.
Cons-level of cleanliness not so great, no screens/security doors on patio sliders so not able to leave doors open for fresh air at night and AC fairly noisy, the oven incinerated everything even at 50 degrees and the slightest bit of steam in kitchen set smoke alarms off.
Overall a nice place to stay but with the small issues above sorted it would be a fantastic place to stay.

Hello to The Sprouts, The turtles are indeed fabulous and a 'must see'. C Bargara is, as you say, close to a great sand beach and pleasant walks - you can even walk to Mon Repos Beach via a bush track and beach...just beautiful. New onsite managers are in place since your visit and the housekeeping has been addressed and will continue to be monitored. So as you put it, the small issues are being sorted.
Just on the smoke detector, they have a job to do, and I hate the sound they make, but they are vital equipment in any building.
Kind regards

“A Wonderful Stopover”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 October 2011

Travelling with US friends, we were all absolutely delighted with the modern, spacious, apartment and its appointments. The online booking was trouble-free and any questions we had were quickly and clearly answered. While THIS time our stay was simply a convenient two-night stopover for a Lady Musgrave Island tour, we WILL be back for a more extended stay at the first opportunity.

Dear Traveller from Currimundi,

Thank you for your great review. We appreciate your positive feedback and are pleased you enjoyed your stay with us. Bargara is certainly a fabulous location to rest, relax with a coffee in the 'village', enjoy long walks, swim in the ocean, or just sit on your balcony and watch for passing Whales.

We too, hope that your next visit will be longer.

Kind regards
Wendy Moss

“Super Penthouse - not so super”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 September 2011

We booked the Super Penthouse as we were 2 families on a weekend away. Our initial reaction was WOW. The views are amazing and a super large balcony to enjoy it! The size of the apartment is really good however why is there only a queen size bed in the main bedroom and a double bed in the second bedroom?? This does not make for an enjoyable stay for the second couple who have to sleep in a double bed with no room to move and their feet hanging over the end. Also, why are face washers not provided? I have never stayed somewhere where there are no face washers, particularly annoying when you have children.
However overall our stay was good. Great location and nice apartment. For the price of the super penthouse I just expected a bit more.
