My husband and I had the opportunity for a quick getaway and we were lucky enough to have found Whitcomb Summit Motel. I was extremely pleased with the room which was spacious, beautifully decorated and clean clean clean! We both had a great night sleep but waking up the the breathtaking view from the large picture window in our room was the best!! We brought our snowmobiles and were able to leave from the parking lot onto beauifully groomed trails for miles and miles! We will definetely be returning during the summer months with our children to enjoy many of the activities in the area ( tubing, hiking, kayaking, white water rafting, zip lining! ). The owner is dedicated to making sure his guests are pleased at all times! Great times with great people! We will be back soon!!!

The view from the porch or balcony of your room is reason enough to stay here. You can see 3 states from your door! I have sat there and watched sunrises, sunsets and rain/thunder/& lightning storms passing through in little cells all over the mountains while I sat in the sun high & dry.
I have stayed at many places in western MA over the years but this place is my final destination when out west. You are secluded for peace and tranquility and yet just a few minutes drive to other towns if the need arise. You is also close to the many attrations and sites the Berkshires has to offer. You name it you can do it from the Summit, the highest peak on the Mohawk Trail. Not to mention the prices are exceptional for food & lodging. Their newly open resteraunt and Bar is a very friendly atmosphere and the cheapest prices around! I have met people from all of the country who come to stay at the Summit. If you in the Berkshires you MUST try the Whitcomb Summit Inn, Tell Jim Russ sent ya!

The whitcomb summit has the best views,the best location,the best service,the cleanest rooms, with a very good snowmobile trails with great grooming conditions , but most important of all the owner Jim and his staff made us felt like we were part of their family. I wrote a review of our stay there when we first returned home. I wrote that I suspected that family and friends of the owners wrote the other reviews. Now for some reason, my review has disappeared. The only good parts of this motel was that it was clean, quite, and had a great view. The observation tower was boarded up, the stairs to get on the porch to enter your room are dangerous, and the parking lot was six inches of mucky gray clay. If you don't have a 4x4 don't risk parking there. The "pub" was a seedy biker bar. All in all, the other reviews are misleading. I originally gave this place 3 stars, but after thinking about it and seeing that my review was removed, I would not suggest boarding your dog at this motel. I would give it zero stars if I could!
