“Most fantastic, low key, place in Culebra! Keep it a secret, please.”

The Villa Fulladoza is simply our favorite place to stay in Culebra! We stumbled upon it about 8 years ago, and have returned almost every year since - to the beautiful, slow island, and always to stay at Fulladoza! The location is great - right on the bay, and a casual stroll into town, but far away enough from town to be quiet. Myrna, who runs the place is amazing! She is there in a heartbeat when you need her, or simply want to chat about the days, but otherwise leaves her guests in peace. This is not a resort hotel - the walls are pink, the shutters show age, but the tiled floors are immaculately clean and the beds are very comfortable. The kitchen and shared grill are great - and the views make it one of the most romantic places to eat in! There are cats lounging in the sun on the big shared patio, books to borrow, flowers blooming everywhere, and birds to watch. This is not for everyone - there is no AC, room service, daily maid service, or bell hops - but that is what we like about it! Then there is the island itself - bliss!

“Don't stay here-I want to keep it to myself.”

I love this place! It's Culebra at it's best. It is inexpensive but not cheap. You can spend your money eating out, which is really the only night time entertainment, anyway. And now, there are some really good restaurants. Don't miss Susie's! You can easily cook in the room or barbecue on the patio at the dock. Easy walk to town for supplies. Myrna couldn't be nicer. She's not on the premises a lot (privacy!), but is only a cellphone call away for anything you need. The solar heated showers a great after a day at the beach--the reason you came to Culebra, right?

“Sheer Bliss”

Villa Fulladosa is easily one of the best bargains for your money in Culebra.

We stayed in April 2007 in one of the upper efficiencies for ony $85 per night.

The room has a front patio with table/chairs overlooking the bay. As you enter the large room, you have nice sized kitchen with fridge, stove and sink -- stocked with most of the items you'll need to cook and eat with. Queen bed with high-speed ceiling fan.

The bathroom has a nice shower with plenty of hot water/good pressure.

At the rear of the unit, there's a living room area with footon and another door and balcony.

No A/C, but the fans and many windows, plus the trade winds kept us very comfortable. No TV, no radios, no noise!!

This place is so peaceful, there is even a sign that says "the only noise we like to hear is the sound of the water lapping at the dock". There is a rule about no amplified music accordingly.

So, if you're a noisy person, or like to party it up a bit, this might not be the place for you.

The onsite management, Myrna is renowned on the island for running Villa Fulladosa impeccably.

The units and grounds are immaculately cleaned.

We also used Culebra Scooter while we were there. (In fact they recommended Villa Fullodosa to us). Culebra scooter picked us up at the ferry dock, took our bags to Villa Fulladosa and then to our scooters.

When we left Culebra, we were able to make arrangements to leave the scooters at Villa Fulladosa and Culebra Scooter picked them up. That saved a lot of time as we needed to catch the early ferry out.

“Perfect low-key place to stay”

Really enjoyed the Villa Fulladosa, it matched Culebra perfectly! It's right on the water and our unit was on the water side of the building. The room and furnishings were spartan/basic but perfect for a beachy stay. No tv, no a/c, just a overhead fan, which was sufficient. Not even a table side clock radio. The room was really an apartment, with a kitchen and living room area, as well as the bedroom and a balcony. I was here to relax and kick back and Villa Fulladosa, like Culebra itself, is perfect for that. The only negative was that we didn't have more time to spend there. I hope to go back someday.
