We had a great stay in one of the Hillside Villas. This is a lovely set of villas overlooking a gorgeous beach. The tropical landscaping of the villa property is well designed, well maintained and beautiful. The villas are very clean. We had no bug issues when we were there the last week of January. White Bay Beach is a great place to hang for people who like to hang out on the beach. Sunny all day long, beautiful vegetation, lounge chairs available, and nightly sunsets. Ivan's Beach bar was very convenient, and we met some fun people there. The snorkeling here is not as good as some beaches on St. John, but the beach itself is as good as the best beach on St. John, and had less people. The quick access to the beach, whether by walking or by jeep, was fantastic. It was lots of fun to watch the boats arrive and anchor for the day. The other end of White Bay Beach is divided by some rocks, but it's just a short scramble to get there. It's busier at this other end of the beach. It was great to walk here for lunch or a drink. We also enjoyed the quick walk over to Great Harbor, and the fun restaurants there. It's fun to rent a jeep to see the entire island - and/or a dinghy to zip over to Sandy Spit or Sandy Cay. It was quite rough the day the four of us did this in the little dinghy, and we are experienced boaters....so be careful. On the way back in the dinghy, a pod of dolphin (at least 12) surrounded out dinghy, and hung out with us for about 10-15 minutes! It was quite the moment.
