What a wonderful, warm welcome we received as we walked up to the Inn. Sandra's bright smile and accomodating manner gave us no clue that she had stepped away from a meeting to greet us. The fact that she is totally there for you was the friendship that seemed automatic and continuing despite whatever else could be going on. There was nothing that wasn't at hand and well placed. I wanted to stay an extra day just to read all the current magazines and newspapers, and just talk to this charming innkeeper. It was comfortable, bright, private, clean, accomodating and affordable! l learned that the Inn qualifies as "green" and is environmentally friendly. They raise fresh vegetables on-site and sponsor benefits for hospice. Sharon and Paul are active in the community and support their neighbors, with good things said about the town and the people. Sharon will lend a GPS loaded with local destinations for newcomers. They shared that they are "come here's" the term denoting not born and raised on Eastern Shore, VA, but they have become so well received that awards and plaques of appreciation were everywhere to be quietly discovered. Wonderful jazz and soft blues background music accompanied two of the best breakfasts we've had in all of our travels. Presentation was close to perfect, an abundance of fresh fruit came with each meal and the food was creative and excellent. Sharon started at 5 AM baking and the muffins, rolls, and pastries were airy and superb. It's hard not to over-compliment the care that we felt there; we were "home". Our visit was part of the plan to move to ESVA within a few years and we are glad to make this acquaintance, a business we would refer to and return to for our stays, and innkeepers we can call friends.
