“Charming getaway in Onancock”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

We are local and decided to go see all of the local hotels and B&B's to make recommendations for our out of town guests for our wedding. The Inn and Garden made the top of our list because the rooms are private and large so that the families could gather to play cards or just visit. The thread count on the sheets was wonderful and there was a very clean comfortable spa-like atmosphere that makes you feel pampered. The food is absolutely delicious every time.
Our family members stayed here and had nothing but good things to say about the experience. Thank You Inn and Garden for making our out-of-town guests enjoy their time in Onancock!

What a wonderful, warm welcome we received as we walked up to the Inn. Sandra's bright smile and accomodating manner gave us no clue that she had stepped away from a meeting to greet us. The fact that she is totally there for you was the friendship that seemed automatic and continuing despite whatever else could be going on. There was nothing that wasn't at hand and well placed. I wanted to stay an extra day just to read all the current magazines and newspapers, and just talk to this charming innkeeper. It was comfortable, bright, private, clean, accomodating and affordable! l learned that the Inn qualifies as "green" and is environmentally friendly. They raise fresh vegetables on-site and sponsor benefits for hospice. Sharon and Paul are active in the community and support their neighbors, with good things said about the town and the people. Sharon will lend a GPS loaded with local destinations for newcomers. They shared that they are "come here's" the term denoting not born and raised on Eastern Shore, VA, but they have become so well received that awards and plaques of appreciation were everywhere to be quietly discovered. Wonderful jazz and soft blues background music accompanied two of the best breakfasts we've had in all of our travels. Presentation was close to perfect, an abundance of fresh fruit came with each meal and the food was creative and excellent. Sharon started at 5 AM baking and the muffins, rolls, and pastries were airy and superb. It's hard not to over-compliment the care that we felt there; we were "home". Our visit was part of the plan to move to ESVA within a few years and we are glad to make this acquaintance, a business we would refer to and return to for our stays, and innkeepers we can call friends.

“Glad we found it.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 December 2011

My wife and I had a very relaxing stay at this B&B thanks to Sandra and Paul. They made us feel very welcome there. The breakfasts were too good, as everything was wonderful and gourmet, but there was more than we could hold. The bedroom and dining facilites were clean and bright, and the parking was unusually good for a B&B. Their business is definitely an asset for the Eastern Shore!

Room Tip: The blue room is on the second floor at the front, but the noise did not wake us.

“Such a pleasant surprise!”

I was driving through the area and found this place on Tripadvisor. I was so impressed by the attentive (but not TOO attentive, if you know what I mean) hosts. The food was top-notch. The Friday night rockfish tasting menu was superb, and the breakfast the next day was maybe the best I've EVER had. An incredible muffin and fruit salad followed by my choice of maybe 10 options, many featuring seafood. I had a crab omelet and was blown away. I left feeling completely rejuvenated and wished I could have stayed longer to explore the cute town and eat more of the Inn & Garden's great food! Definitely check it out!

“Excellent stay”

We stayed here the night before taking the ferry to visit Tangier Island. Although a little outside the main area of the town, this B&B was very lovely, and our host and hostess were terrific. We borrowed their bicycles and rode around town, which was fun. We were the only ones overnight, staying in the Green Room Suite 4 on the second floor. The room felt much larger than the photos show and very pretty. The breakfast was truly gourmet, and was one of the best meals we had on our trip. I just wish we had stayed on a night they served dinner!
