“Charming old inn, maintained beautifully with a breathtaking view.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 October 2011

A wonderful experience to stay in an Inn that was a British built, early 1800's home. We were on the top floor with a view of the harbour in early October and found this inn to be
comfortable, found it exceptionally clean and the hosts were charming. A continental
breakfast was available with a nice variety of homemade baked goods and eggs cooked
to your liking. This would be a place that we would be sure to return to if we are ever
in the area again.

“Lovely old inn”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 October 2011

We stayed here in September and loved this old inn. We were in one of the rooms on the top floor and the ceilings added so much character and the views were great. Everything was clean and inviting. I had no problem paying when we arrived (that actually suits me because then I don't have to worry about forgetting before we leave). Minutes after arriving, a young man came in the door and the host greeted him and asked about the timing of boat tours to see the icebergs (yes, there were tons of icebergs there in September/October!). Minutes later we were heading out the door to do this amazing tour. The boat's captain and his sister, who explained what we were seeing and lots of other interesting information, couldn't have been nicer.

Our room was comfortable, it was great having Wifi available and the breakfast the next morning was great (and cooked by the captain from the day before--you've gotta love off-season travelling). I'd highly recommend this place and will return when we come back to Newfoundland one day. Oh, and if you like hiking, the trails around the bays are amazing!

Room Tip: The very top level affords nice views and charming ceilings, but it is a bit far to carry luggage if...

“Lovely place with a personal bonus!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 October 2011

When researching where to stay in Twillingate, I happened to call this place and reached the owner who, it turned out, knew of my grandfather who was born there. Between himself and his cousin, we got a tour of the islands, anecdotes of my grandfather's childhood and the history of my family's fishing business. This trip far surpassed my expectations due to the wonderful hospitality offered at Harbour Lights Hotel!! Twillingate is a stunning place, and was made all the more enjoyable thanks to the kindness of the owner of this Inn!

“Good breakfast”

This place was quite busy. They had a good breakfast, eggs your way, yogurt, toast, etc. The room was small but cosy. Great location if you want to explore the iceburgs and do some hiking around Twillingate. The only down side is if you are on a top floor you have to carry your luggage up some steep narrow stairs. So if you are not able to do that then you might want to ask for a lower floor.

Beautiful traditional older house with tons of character and charm. We could not ask for more pleasant host and hostesses as wht this location has, an excellent breakfast buufet was available where we could pick and choose what we like along witha great choise of home made muffins and bkaed goods. As for taking my shoes off i was glad to as i do it in my own house and with the cool wet weather i woudl ahve done so anyway out of respect for the establishment. Our room was clean and quaint and we will definitely be returnign back to the Inn again
