This is a modest and unpretentious little hotel in a quiet residential area. I stayed here for five nights with three work collegues and I cannot fault the staff who, from first contact and throughout our stay, were friendly, polite and helpful. It is a £6 journey from Oakwood station and about 10 minutes in a car from Middlesex university. There is ample parking outside and an attractive entrance area to the hotel.
Our rooms were clean and well serviced during our stay. I had a small single room which had everything in it that I required; as in hair drier, radio alarm, tv, tea and coffee making facilities, the shower had lots of hot water and the towels were changed each day. This is a hotel at the budget end of the market. There are signs of wear and tear, a few holes in the carpet, some tired fittings here and there, but it is a reasonably priced "bed for the night" sort of place.
There is a small bar and the "Morano" lounge (with an elaborate light fitting to fit the name) both with TV screens and some red and white retro seating. Free newspapers and wifi downstairs.
The restaurant is also decorated with a style of its own and has a basic menu. I suspect (sorry - slight negative comment here) it may rely entirely on frozen catering supplies. If I am honest I thought the quality of the food I had, especially during the one evening we ate there, wasn't that great (inedible soup - certainly not home made, and horrible cheap bread) but the staff absolutely go out of their way to be helpful and my pals said their food was "ok". There are certainly a couple of good pubs nearby with fabulous food.
The breakfast was of a reasonable standard, and my collegues enjoyed something cooked most mornings with no complaints. The dining area has a view of the garden which is pleasant. If you have to visit Enfield (as we did) this is an economical choice, perhaps evidenced by the number of polite builders who also make this their hotel of choice, but don't let that put you off. This is an ok choice.
