“We'd go back to Peguera”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 September 2011

We booked into this hotel on an A.I. basis and chose Peguera over Magaluf or Palma. We arrived after midnight but reception staff showed us to the restaurant where we could get something to eat. Our room was in the block across the road from the pool. The room was clean and the bathroom had a wet-floor walk in shower area.

Staff were friendly enough and spoke enough English to see us alright. Their English being better than our Spanish. Reception was spacious and cool, even when it was 33 degrees outside. The downstairs bar area had internet access, large television and a couple of arcade games. The indoor pool was closed during our stay. There were plenty of sun loungers at poolside and the bar staff kept the tables clean.

The restaurant was upstairs and there was no lift. The young German guy staying at the same time as us was carried up the stairs in his wheelchair, not something I’d want to watch again. The food was basic but we didn’t go hungry and there was fresh pineapple and melon every day.

Evening entertainment was only on one night of our weeks holiday but was ok.

The Hotel is well placed for the beach, shopping area and bus stops.

“If you enjoy food, don't go”

Very clean, good sized room, Ok pools. Transfer time was 2 1/2 hours (1 1/4 on return) from the airport but not hotel's fault. What was their fault was the dismal food on arrival, and the totally bland repetitive food every day. Same salads each day,one fish dish, one meat dish, one soggy pasta dish. Puddings awful, think ice cream or angel delight!

Good location and nice resort but there must be much better hotels.

Staff looked very tired and unenthusiastic.

All inclusive meant you had access to some of the worst wine ever produced. Beer ok, soft drinks and mixers from syrup taps.

All in all, hotel offered little to commend apart from somewhere to sleep

“Basic facilities but comfortable, decent food, super beach and town.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 September 2011

Yes the transfer was very long considering it's only about 20 miles from the airport,it is the last drop off after about 10 stops. We only paid £10 return though so couldn't really complain.A taxi would have been a lot faster but 40 euros each way,so you make your choice.we were pleasantly surprised upon reaching the hotel, good sized rooms and large comfortable beds. There are 2 pools ,we tended to use the smaller one on the upper level outside the accommodation block which was sunny until about 7pm.There were adequate sun beds and parasols available, but some had the dreaded towel rash as usual!!
The clientèle was about a 70-30 mix of German and British which was fine as we are quite happy in the company of German people.Peguera is predominantly a German resort anyway and virtually every notice etc. in in German, even more than Spanish. My advice would be to go to another resort if you have a problem with Germans.
The food in the hotel was very good in my opinion, although there was only 1 choice of meat or fish every day but plenty of salads and cold meats and cheese.
I found the all inclusive bar excellent with good quality spirits available,as well as beer and wine. The soft drinks were on a self service basis and again good quality, seeming to be genuine pepsi,7up etc. There was never a queue at the bar and the staff were very friendly and polite.
The rooms were cleaned daily and towels changed as required,no complaints there.
The hotel was only 350m to the beach and main shopping street,a pleasant 5 minute walk, downhill but not that steep. The beach was perfect, soft sand and the water is only waist deep up to about 50m out.Quite busy but there was always enough space for a parasol and towels/mats etc.
The main street of the town was about the nicest we have ever encountered,a good selection of shops and bars open until very late. The bars were quite busy but never rowdy and loud,we never saw anybody obviously drunk, just people enjoying themselves.
To sum up,for the price we paid we were more than happy and will definitely be returning next year,(with a German phrase book)!!

“not to bad, would not go this hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 August 2011

the transfer from airport was terrible, was told it was 45 minutes, it took 2 hours, after all the drop offs, which your not told about, arrived at hotel 2-30am, night porter said there was food & drink, cold meat & tomatoes, very hard rolls and only soft drinks. the beds were clean, towels changed when you wanted. food wasn't great, alright if you like salad, chips & pasta, every day. only catered for the germans, hotel was full of them! entertainment----- joke, german elvis laughable!!! loved peguera, had english b/fast at the scottish bar down the road. nothing in this hotel for children, only swimming pool till 7'oclock at night.

best thing about this hotel was a small scottish bistro just down the road. Bistro owned by david and louisa does lovely food and drink and lots of english chat. This place saved us from really bad food at the hotel.
