having recently stayed in the sol balmoral hotel, the hotel couldnt be faulted, same with the food and cleanliness. staff werent very friendly and didnt like to smile, also the deco in the bedrooms (which are very simple, no tv or hair dryer) and lobby areas need updating. the resturant is nice and modern, the maids do a good job in the rooms but it is worth getting a safe, the entertainment is amazing and the entertainers cant be faulted espesically miguel.

some good clubs too in the resort... Sinatras & Jupiters were open past my bed time ! , even on the vodka & red bull :/ 4am I had enough hehe

Given the choice from the 3 sol hotels... balmoral is best for entertainment at night,chiuahahas great pool during the day, mastines didnt really have anything .. but there all close enough so make the best of it !!

honest review here.. its pretty good and the food it awesome , ignore wound up pretentious bad reviews on here , it must make some people feel good to moan !!! so to them ... get a life :) or go pay 2k a week in the maldives.

can't give anything but 5 stars for effort, especially to the animation team who work very hard & have a ball ! grease night , terror night,fantasia night.. fantastic !! credit where it is due.

Just returned from staying at the Balmoral, after reading reviews before travelling we were very concerned about being put in the Balmoral hotel, on approaching the hotel it appears very dated and doesn't give the best first impression. However, we found that it was not as bad as we expected. We had 3 rooms on the 6th floor all of which had good views from the balcony, were very clean but basic. The food was very good, lots of choice and there was something for everyone and a very relaxed atmosphere. The staff were always keen to help and were always cleaning.
There was lots of evening entertainment for anyone that wanted to watch. We were made to feel welcome to use the other facilities in the other 2 hotels for drinks etc.
The beach nearest to the hotel was excellent however there was alot of steps to climb but this was not a problem for our family group. The beach was very clean and the sea was clear however mind the rocks underfoot as you enter the sea.
We enjoyed many walks in the evenings to the local shops and bars.
Overall we had a fantastic holiday, holidays are what you make it! The only main problem was the transfer times to and from the airport which took 2-3 hours after we were told it would only take an hour. Due to the location of this resort you are quite far from anywhere to visit. We visited Western water park near Palma which took 2 hours on a coach tour, which then put us off more visits due to the travelling. On the whole we feel that we got what we paid for but we will not be staying in a 3 star hotel again.

Read the reviews before going,so went with a open mind,we had booked a budget holiday within the sol complex,budget holiday that brings cheap things,but after a 2 and half hour transfer from the airport to the hotel,6 drop off's,if u wana get there quicker,use a taxi,lol
checked in @ the Sol Chihuahuas and was told we was staying at the sol balmoral,ohh no,lol
After a good nights sleep and a walk around to see whats on offer,we was surprised with what we had read before going.
The staff are friendly,very helpfull,willing to make ya holiday a good time,unlike the other 2 hotels,very ignorant and rude.
The room was basic,bed,cupboards,bathroom with shower over the bath and a balcony,view over gardens,pool and nearbye town,what more could u ask for,u only sleep in there.
Food in the resturant was a variety,fresh salad,pasta,chips and a change in meat and fish daily,plenty to choose and eat,pudding to die for,lol
We went all inclusive,downfall is your only allowed 2 drinks per person @ the bar,but a good variety of beverages,,alcohol,soft drinks and ice cream.
They do snacks during the day,usaully left overs from the previous meal and chips,can only be eaten indoors,not allowed outside,good coz it keeps the area outside clean and no wasps or ants,we just stuck to the 3 main meals.
A desent sized pool outside with sun loungers,if u want 1,u need to be out early with ya towel to gaurantee it,i did it,but we spent the day on it,not like some who don't come out till 3,what a waste.
Plenty for the kids to do,kids club and staff are great.
Fantastic entertainment on a night,staff shows with the kids club,professional entertainment with bingo,music and competitions,so much better than the other hotels,hence everyone going there,so be early for a seat.
We visited a nearbye town-felanitx for a sunday market,a good day out,crazy bus driver,but worth the money,lol
so after a relaxing week,eating loads,drinking far too much and enjoying the shows,we had a fantastic week and would come back again.
