would and have recommended this hotel to anyone visiting beautiful Mallorca who like myself is in search of a real taste of the wonderful Spanish culture and hospitality and not so much a Brits on Tour 24 hour boozathon!!

We arrived by coach transfer from Palma after midnight thinking we would have to walk quite a distance to our hotel..but we got off the bus and there it was..Hotel Rocamar!!We said hello, that was pretty much check-in..so simple..just what you want after a serveral hours commuting..key and to the room (booked online in advance after reading reviews on tripadvisor) It was dark..but we stepped onto the balcony and could see a goodsized pool below.with lots of sunbeds..could see a lighthouse and here that wonderful sound of the ocean..but had no idea till the next morning just how close we were to the sea and just how spectaculau the views were!! (It was like waking up for christmas day tha morning..in suspense over the views as a good view really makes the room in my opinion and this was just superb!!

the rooms are very basic but what more do you need??!!..it was beautifully clean on arrival..and then cleaned everyday that we stayed!!

We did not have the breakfast buffet or even see it..as we wanted the most relaxing little holiday and wanted to get up whenever we wanted..but there are 2 good little supermarkets both 5 mins away walk or less where they sell smashing danish's etc!!I don't think they do any other food at the hotel..which I'm quite glad about because we were so content there..I don't think we would ever have left!!!what we really liked though is that they have a big fridge next to the lift where guest can store all their food and drink..which was fantastic to keep our ham, cheese, water and wine etc..also with the a heavy duty corkscrew attached to the wall!!this really made us feel relaxed and welcome!

We spent most of our daytimes lying in the sun by the pool reading our books in peace..or taking a dip in the pool was a necessity when it got a bit hot..again with superb views!!

we never left Cala Figuera..although there is a good beach a 30minute walk away..but pretty busy we could imagine!!but we did pop down straight from the hotel to the waters edge where they have a little ladder straight into the sea which was wonderful..not bad snorkling round the rocks/cliffs there too..and some brilliant rocks you can jump off just up from the steps which is exilerating..especially for me a scraredy cat!!

Some fab restaurants in Cala Figuera which we visited each night..had wonderful paella's, pizza's and icecreams!!..and some good vino de cassa..then just a short walk back to the hotel for a chill on the balcony before bed (although there are a few bars around open later for the more energetic!! which the waiters will help direct you to/advise on..all very nearby as cala figuera is nice and small!!)

Although there is no air-conditioning I slept like a baby everynight with just the bedside fan..and even had to turn that off most nights as it was a bit chilly as we slept with the balcony door open everynight..in fact we didnt shut it for one minute until we left on the last day!!nothing better than having the sea breeze and southing waves to lull you to sleep..and such a quiet spot!!I would certailly recommend one of the sea/pool view rooms if you can get one!!!!

Now last but not least I have to say how fantastic the owners are!!so warm and helpful..nothing is a problem!!It really is charming and that is 100% to do with the warm family that own/run Hotel Rocamar...already planning a trip back next summer if not before!! (We met a lovely couple from Germany who have been coming for 3 weeks at the same time every year since 1999..and that doesn't suprise me after my week in this little bit of paradise..far from the madding crowd!!Thankyou Hotel Rocamar for a wonderful trip!!Gracias por su hospitalidad!! xx

We arrived to a warm welcome from the lovely owners! they advised us on what was offered of the local area and said that we would enjoy hiring bikes and cycling around the local coastline! we did this and had the most amazing time ever!! The room was perfect and cool and there was a fan supplied for those who struggle with the heat! our beds were made everyday and new towels also! there is a fridge provided for whatever you want to store. we made our own breakfasts everyday with fresh bread from the local stores so cant comment on breakfast. The pool has an exceptional view and you can spent your day and evening watching the local fisherman returning to port and all the amazing yachts cruising around! some evenings we had supper on the local cliffs which was a memory for life. others we went to the restaurants down by the port. It is unbelievably gorgeous and well priced!! We recommend this hotel for couples just wanting to get away from it all and to spend amazing time together! we certainly did!! And cannot wait to go back again!

We had a most enjoyable stay in this friendly, quiet hotel. Our hostess was most helpful and we would be happy to return in the future. Great views of Cala Figuera harbour from our sea view room.
