We booked the holiday with Cosmos because the brochure stated that the apartments have air-conditioning. What they didn't mention was that the air-conditioning is dependent on you being in the room for it to run and is automatically switched off at midnight so sleep during the first few nights was very uncomfortable until we rigged the electricity/air-con switch so that the air-con would operate while we were away from the apartment meaning it had already cooled by the time we returned in the evening. Considering that most of the guests were "all-inclusive" and spent most of the time around the pool area and watching the entertainment I can only assume that they had done the same.
We had to navigate the entertainment area to get to our room which isn't easy when the area is packed with guests and there is luggage to move. There were 4 of us in a 2 bedded apartment which is advertised as sleeping up to 6 adults. There were only 4 chairs around a small table in the living area and the kitchen was poorly equipped for 6. The sheets and towels were of poor quality (which seems to be the norm for package self-catering accommodation). The area around the pool was too small for the numbers being encouraged to stay on site and there were too few sunbeds.
On the plus side, the staff were very friendly and helpful and faults were mostly repaired very quickly after being reported but our terrace continued to be flooded by the garden sprinklers even after reporting this.
We enjoyed the holiday despite (rather than because of) the accommodation.
We agreed we would return to Majorca but would stay in a privately owned villa or apartment rather than a package holiday.

views were beautiful......food not too bad mainly catered for the german guests..hotel over run with them, not ideal stay for english familys as there were only three english familys there......
considering it was an all inclusive holiday we spent more time out the hotel .......would go to cala d,or again but wouldnt stay at this

We stayed in a 1 bedroom self catering apartment in May 2006. As soon as we arrived we were greeted by helpful and friendly staff. Room was spotless and well appointed. Entertainment was ok for the kids, especially the magician ! Hotel and pool were well maintained and amazingly clean and smart. Not many Brits in hotel during our stay, mostly German and Dutch families, this made a nice change for us, don't think thier as rowdy as Brits.
Fabulous litlle beach just 200m from hotel, resort was nice and quiet, but if you wanted some action, Cala d'or was just round the corner.
If you want a friendly,clean and quiet holiday, I would give the La Mirada a go during May time.
I will be going to this hotel next year without a doubt, and would recommend it to all.

We stayed in a 2 bedroon self-catering apartment in June 2006. The furniture and catering facilties were basic but adequate. We had to pay extra to use the TV (only a couple of British channels) and for the safety deposit. The saucepan in the apartment was grotty but as soon as we asked for a replacement one we were given 2 brand new ones!

The location was brilliant - just a few yards from Cala Egos, a suburb of main Cala D'or, with a supermarket, shops, bars and restuarants, taxi rank and childrens' play area. We particularly enjoyed Sparkles Karaoke bar which welcomes children. The hotel is also close to 2 small but beautiful beaches, and the tourist train to Cala D'or centre stops opposite.

The hotel facilities are good - the swimming pools are clean and there is a separate childrens' pool. The hotel evening entertainment was varied and enjoyable. The guests were of all nationalities and the entertainment was in English and German.
