My family have just returned from a week in Luna Park Hotel and feel I must warn other families it is TOTALLY UNSUITABLE for families. As I had read in another review, the hotel is largely used by groups of young german men who make considerable noise and disturbance throughout the day and night. When asked to turn their music down it went down for 10 mins then up loud again. After night time drinking bouts the pool is used to deposit glasses, bottles, food, chairs, umbrellas, ashtrays and on one occasion the fire extinguisher from the corridor out side their rooms. On one day the pool was closed for the whole day while pools cleaners searched the bottom of the pool using flippers and snorkel for broken glass. They also were breaking glasses in the rooms and on the balcony. They can not hold a normal conversation with each other, every word has to shouted at any time of the day or night. The unfortunate thing is that when we and many others complained the hotel refused to do anything about it. You actually feel totaly intimidated and frightened in your own room.
As a budget hotel the food and bar standards are quite good with staff totally frustated at the lack of their management to confront the issue. If BQ Hotels are happy for this type of behavior to continue they should stop taking bookings from families.
After I had booked my trip on the net I noticed a review saying about this problem and when I contacted MedHotels who act as agents, they said they had not heard anything about the situation. I will certainly be informing them of my experience and urge others to do the same. This rowdyness completely spoilt my annual holiday.

Don't believe the map that you see on the internet when you look at this hotel - it's nowhere near where they indicate that it is. Hence, it took a while to find - lucky that Cala Ratjada is only a small town! Cala Ratjada is still a town that is mainly frequented by Germans on holiday, although it was nice to see after not having been there for several years that other nationalities are starting to visit and that more of the restuarant menus etc. are now in English as well as German and Spanish. The staff at the hotel were very friendly however unfortunatley our fellow guests were not and although this was bought up with the staff little was done about their behaviour towards us. One of the main reasons we stayed at this hotel was because it said that it had air conditioning - however what they actually mean is that they are installing air conditioning, at some point........find somewhere else to stay that won't leave you hot and bothered on your holiday.
