Hotel is right on the seafront in a quiet location with promenade between hotel and sea.We stayed in a seaview room and were not disappointed as the view out to sea was superb,you could open the balcony doors and listen the waves rolling against the rocks whilst still in bed.We went B&B but there are not many restaurants within easy walking distance so we purchased meal tickets for the evening meals.The food was good in the normal restaurant with plenty of choice but really good in the a-la-carte restaurant.If you are going to stay here and don't like travelling for food you should go half board (this includes 1 alcoholic drink per person & soft drinks with every meal).Sunbeds were plentiful as most people seem to take off for the day.Hotel has a fence/hedge around perimeter which gives you security and privacy.The promenade is short with a small harbour at one end which attracts locals for swimmimg and wind surfing,whilst the other end leads to flights of steps which take you up to the 3 restaurants within easy walking distance.Canico village is a slog as it is up a steep hill,the hotel bus to Funchal needs to be booked the day before,the local bus service stops right outside and is cheap.

This hotel is perfect if you want to chill out, relax, and just enjoy doing nothing - because there is nothing much to do. The hotel is very well appointed having just undergone a refurbishment. It is very clean with modern furnishings. We were in a studio/apartment which was very spacious with a main living room with kitchen area and then the bedroom and bathroom. I could not find fault in anything. The pool are is very well supplied with loungers and you can get as many clean towels as you wish from reception. The staff were polite and helpful. The only drawback (if it is a drawback) is that it is rather soulless because there is no entertainment. I think the hotel management are missing out on an opportunity to make this a place where you would want to return by making it more lively and interesting.

Canico Bay is very quiet with a few restaurants and one Spar shop but there is a local bus just outside hotel to go to Canico town which is more lively and has more atmosphere. The hotel provide a bus to take you into Funchal which is definitely worth a visit.

We hired a taxi for 100 Euros for the whole day to drive around the island. This was well worth it and the driver, called José, was a star. His English was very good and he took us to all the interesting places that we would otherwise have missed. It was preferable to joining a coach tour.

The hotel was almost perfect, except for the severe lack of entertainment.
Not suitable for kids of anyage, too boring for them nothing to do at night.

I've stayed at Four View Oasis with my family in May of 2011. The hotel is very nice, the rooms are big and clean, the breakfast has some variety and the food is good. The staff is very helpful, police and friendly. The pool area is not very big but it is okay. Overall the hotel is a good value for money. The only real downside i remember was room isolation. Every night there was some kind of animation in the lobby that lasted until midnight. From the room we could ear everything. In some days when we had to get up early this could be very annoying because we wanted to sleep early and we could not.
