“A standard Italian Coast Hotel”

Arrived from the Marco Polo Airport with a cab for over 50 EUR. At check-in we were informed that the our room was not ready, went to the local Pizzeria and for a short walk along the beach. Several hours later, ther room was still not ready, but we were informed that a 10 % discount will be added for this inconvinience. The rooms are small and in bright colors, it was clear that they had a serious upgrade given to them, except to the beds and the oldy materacess. Whas was a surprise was the fact that the sun beds at the beach were of a bigger size than most of the other hotels got, the swimming pool is ultra warm and gets crowdy. The breakfast is classic with an add on of English specialities of Beans and Bacon. A 30 bus ride will take you to Punta Sabioni, from which there are ferries to Venice, a must see once there. Don't stay for the dinner in the hotel, there are a lot of nice restaurants around Jesolo.

Room Tip: ask for a high floor

“setting the record straight”

We have just come back from 2 weeks at this hotel, it was our first time and we were worried before we went about some of the reveiws that had been written, and whilst i don't normally write reveiws very often i felt i should write this. The very negative results about this hotel are unjust. it is a better than average italian hotel in a very busy resort. the staff are VERY obliging and you only have to ask and they will do their best to accomadate you. The food is very good and very well laid out, and in light of previous comments there IS something for everyone. i feel anyone that could write consistant negatives about this hotel and not of the usual standard of clientel if that makes sense, they should have gone to a lesser starred hotel to suit their needs more. We upgraded and the bedroom and bathroom were still small, but spotless and served its purpose for the two weeks. Everyone was friendly and only one family irritated everybody by claiming there sunbeds early (russians), no one else bothered, there was no need to and everyone was friendly and polite. We would go back if only for the massages on the beach, there was about 5 of them doing them, but we had a woman called Maria, chinese and fantastic and was always a bargain, half the price of England. Hardly any entertainment, but that never bothered us and it was the end of there season. All in all a very pleasant holiday.

Room Tip: I would definately up grade to a minimum of an Elegance room if you want a view and a little bit mor...

“We had a great holiday at this hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 August 2011

We have literally just returned from a week's long stay at the Cesare Augustus, which we booked through Thomas Cook. Our group included myself, my husband and our 21 month old son. In my opinion there are many positive things to say about this hotel and only a few negative ones (which I'll mention below).

We paid extra for an 'Elegance' room facing the sea, and it sounds like it was well worth paying for it as the room was one of the newly refurbished ones and was very nice. Other guests complained that their (non refurbished) room was more like something out of the 70s with mould growing in various places - yuck! The rooms are small, but I have been to this area many times and the rooms at other hotels are equally as small so I wouldn't hold it against the hotel. However, the air conditioning didn't work very well. Even on full blast it only made about 3 or 4 degrees difference from the temperature outside, which considering it was over 30 degrees most days, wasn't great.

The buffet food was excellent and very tasty, especially the starters and deserts at dinner. At dinner, there was plenty of variety and many dishes changed nightly.

Everything was clean and the staff were generally helpful.

There aren't enough spaces on the beach for every hotel room, so you do need to get out early (or put your towels out at least!). It's annoying that you have to pay extra for use of the safe and sunbeds around the pool, but we were told about this straight away by the rep so at least we were well informed.

One tip is for those of you who don't need to go on holiday during school holidays: It was very hot whilst we were there and would be over 30 degrees every day. This made our trip to Venice pretty much unbearable. We had booked the last week of August as we were worried that September would be too cold, however I think we made a mistake. If you don't need to go during peak season I'd recommend going in September - my parents have been in September and the weather was still good. If anything, it would make a trip to Venice far more enjoyable.

Room Tip: Ask for a refurbished room and/or pay extra for an 'Elegance' room.

“Lovely, quiet hotel in fantasic resort”

Had a fantastic relaxing time here. The pool area is immaculate, although the reservation and payment system for sunbeds around the pool is a little confusing, and at times irritating - we ended up breakfasting very early, adopting the "if you can't beat them, join them" attitude in order to secure a spot, as the hotel's beach area was also incredibly busy - if you weren't out and about by 9.30am then you weren't going to get a spot!
The staff were attentive, helpful and polite.
Breakfast on the pool terrace is delightful, with plenty of options from the buffet to appeal to all tastes - both hot and cold.
Evening meals in the restaurant provided an equally varied and reasonably appetising choice. The show cooking stations are particularly good, and the pasta cooked to order a really great idea. Tables in the restaurant are quite close together, and although the opening times span the period 7 - 8.30pm, most people seemed to descend very early, and pretty much after 8pm, the place was like a ghost town! There is some entertainment in the hotel, although this is quite limited and if you want something a bit more lively, you would be advised to take a stroll onto the main pedestrianised street one row back from the hotel - plenty to occupy you there!
Drinks were reasonably priced and there were certain promotions on beer whilst we were there.
It's a straightforward matter to visit Venice from Lido di Jesolo and much cheaper to take the bus and ferry from Punta Sabbioni rather than succumb to the tour operators' trips!
The rooms were spotlessly clean, and had a very efficient maid service. Bathroom was on the small side, but this is very common in Italy in my experience.
Weather was mixed during our visit, but this would not stop me from recommending the resort and indeed the hotel to other holiday makers.
A lovely relaxing stay.
