Ischia is still a hidden gem and haven't fully discovered yet. I can tell from my expereince, that Germans are all over the island!
While visiting Positano, we decided to visit Ischia and stayed 3 nights at Hotel La Madonnina. Thanks to warm and welcoming greeting upon our arriaval by Antonella and her beautiful mother, we felt like we were at home. They arranged our pick up from the port, took care of our luggage, fed us with fresh seafood platters and treated us to freshly baked chocolate croissants and cappuccinos in the morning. Not only it was delightful to stay and interfere with this hotel owners and hotel guests, but also a spectacular experience to be able to walk down to the private beach, where water bubbles because of the volcanic soul and bar service is at its best! I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for comfort, affordable accomodations and italian hospitality!
Rooms are very clean and comfortable, bathroom is a mid size and our room had a large balcony.
