Hotel Kranenturm was conviently located and a short walk from the train station and the boat dock. (You can easily walk from the train station with luggage.) We stayed in a double tower room and enjoyed the extra space and the views of both the Rhine River and the castle. Even though the train tracks are next to the hotel, we didn't hear any trains at night. It was a great location for staying in Bacharach and taking a boat ride on the Rhine. The hospitality was exceptional and Fatima made us feel at home. The breakfast was very good, especially the freshly baked rolls and the made to order eggs. We also had dinner at Hotel Kranenturm and the food was excellent.

We stayed 2 nights In this quaint little Hotel. We really felt like we were in Germany in this little town. Fatima was the best little hostess and such a funny sweet Lady. We had the best time here.
We had 2 tower rooms (triple) that were the cutest ever. It was clean and had a Rhine view from one window and castle view on the other. Loved this!
Every morning we had a delicious home made breakfast with fresh buns, meats, eggs and home made preserves, and even bacon and sausage one morning! Thanks Fatima!
We also had Schnitzel dinner there one night that was delicious...If you are looking for beer boots, they have those too!
Thanks so much Fatima and Kurt for giving us a wonderful first Impression of Germany!

This is a charming hotel in picturesque bacharach germany. The rooms are clean, cozy, and have an old world feel with modern plumbing. Several rooms have rhine views and the hotel is less than 5 minutes walk from the shore. Even the food is good.

We loved our stay at Hotel Kranenturm. Fatima treated us like family and took really good care of us. We arrived early in the morning after an all night airplane ride from the US, and she fed us breakfast and made sure our room was ready early. We stayed in a tower room. We also got a tour of several of the other rooms from Fatima. All the rooms were so charming. Fatima strives to keep a really clean and comfortable hotel and even covers the chairs with fabric that matches the room so that she can wash them. The food was the best that we had on our two week trip of Germany and Paris. I loved the restaurant's outside patio. Of the 4 hotels we stayed in on this trip, this was our favorite.

The building is very old as it was a tower on the old city walls. I thought it was exciting to stay in such an old building that had been renovated so well. Since it is an old building, there are stairs to the rooms so, if you have trouble with stairs, ask Fatima when you book so she helps you pick the right room.

Yes, the train runs right by the hotel but the trains are fairly quiet-not like the trains here in the U.S. We slept with all three windows open and the train wasn't any louder than the hotel air conditioners built into the wall of any of the US hotels and did not keep us awake at all.

I would definitely stay here again. In fact, if I were going anywhere in Europe, I would make it a point to go back to this hotel and visit Fatima! Hope to see you soon, Fatima!
