After spending many days in the busy cities of Thailand, my husband and I were looking for our island escape. Upon first seeing Koh Chang from the ferry, it seemed we might find our little bit of peace and luxury here. Not at first. The ride to our first (unnamed hotel) reminded me of the big cities - one long, loud row of shops, vendors, massage parlors and the motorcycle maniacs. Tourists were everywhere. Once we found The Chill, we could relax for the first time. You can't hear the hustle and noises of the street from the grounds of The Chill. The architecture of the place is lovely, especially the gorgeous pool that runs the entire length of this boutique resort. Every room faces the pool and the mountains. From ours, we could even see the ocean. The staff was extremely kind and professional! We looked so forward to our breakfast and dinner with them each day. You never needed to leave The Chill to dine, as the meals were exceptional. The rooms were very clean and modern, and I especially loved the scents and bright colors of the toiletries. In the afternoons, we kayaked and one day took a boat ride to a secluded island. The sunsets were lovely. The other guests were quiet, friendly and mature. We found our oasis at The Chill.
