“Respite for the weary....”

I was looking for a quick getaway last winter from the NY weather. Happened upon the 3 angels inn website and decided to give it a try. I had never stayed in a b & b before but was willing to give it a try. Arrived at the inn after an 8 hour drive completely exhausted! Tom greated me at the door, gave me a brief tour and asked what time I would like to eat breakfast in the am. I enjoyed a delicious and skillfully prepared breakfast at the requested time. I had absolutely no desire to leave the inn for any sightseeing or any other occasion. I simply stayed at the inn and relaxed for two days. It was the most relaxing experience I have ever had. I plan on making another trip to the inn in about a month. I cant wait to get back.

“This B&B is Terrific”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 June 2008

We stayed two nights at this terrific Bed and Breakfast along with another couple in early June 2008. This was our first stay in a B&B so we were not quite sure what to expect. Our hosts, Tom and Pat were there to welcome us upon arrival. They gave us brief history of the property and tour of the Inn. The furnishings in each room are truly beautiful. Our rooms (named after each of their daughters) were large and beautifully appointed, and each room has a gas log fireplace. Cookies, chocolates and Perrier were waiting........coffee and biscotti is always available as are soft drinks and some type of dessert.
Their breakfasts complete with fresh fruit salad and are truly gourmet. They served stuffed french toast one morning and Farmers Casserole (eggs, hashbrowns, ham) the other, along with juice, biscuits, bacon, sausage, grits, coffeecake ............it was heavenly!!

They suggested dinner at the Kennon House in nearby Gasburg for dinner and made resevations for us. Our dinner there was delicious.

I can't say enough good things about our stay. Tom and Pat are gracious hosts who will take very good care of you and work hard to be sure your every need is met. We will be definitely be returning in the fall when we can give the fireplace a try. If you are traveling to the Lawrenceville area or scuba diving in nearby Lake Rawlings, give this Inn a try. You will be glad you did.

“And the owners are ANGELS, too”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 March 2008

My first visit and my sister's second visit; arrived later and more tired than expected. Owners greeted us, gave us a quick tour, and allowed us to quickly settle into our night time patterns to prepare for bed. Perrier, tea, coffee, fresh cookies, and dark chocolates were waiting in our rooms along with beautiful, thick towels, books, magazines, soap, lotion, soft, thick linens and a roaring fire. The room was so relaxing that I actually decided to enjoy the moment instead of doing office work. The antique pieces throughout the B and B were outstanding. The innkeepers agreed to serve us breakfast at nine. I was about 30 minutes late but the breakfast was still hot, the fresh juice still chilled. We were served a hearty breakfast of baked apples with pecans, raisins, and a dollop of whip cream (not a big apple eater, but loved this dish and ate my sister’s leftovers), hash browns, egg and sausage strata, coffee, tea with honey, and hot cross buns. We also received a nice home going basket of buns and cakes as we left the inn. When traveling in VA, be sure to rest your head with the two angels that own and successfully run the Three Angels Inn at Sherwood.

“Charming Comfortable Inn near Lake Rawling, VA”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 August 2007

This inn is located reasonably close to Lake Rawlings Dive Center. We wanted to check in before we went diving but traffic was terrible on route 95 south from Washington D.C. so we had to go directly to lake Rawling. We were going to do a night dive so we called and advised that we would be late arriving. They asked us to try and make it before 11:00 as to not disturb other guests. We were able to get there around 10:15 and they had the light on and were ready to greet us. The inn is an older farm house that has been nicely remodeled. There are many antique pieces to admire. The room was comfortable with small private bath that serves the purpose. Bring a book as there are no TV's in the room, no lake noise from other TV to keep you awake. The inn is airconditioned and we slept well in a comfortable bed. When we checked in the host asked what time we wanted breakfast. he advised the needed travel time back to lake Rawling and said 8:00 would work well. The breakast room is in the finished lower level, nice, clean, bright and sunny. The host and his friendly wife served a wonderful breakfast with fresh berries, warm bread, excellent french toast (hold the syurp, it's really rich), juice and gourmet coffee. We had a comfortable stay with charming innkeepersand would return again.
