We were in a bind, unexpectedly needing a place to stay with our four small children and our dog. The front desk staff were great about helping us out. They continued to be great throughout the week as we had to keep extending. I appreciated our dog being welcomed at a reasonable rate.

The breakfast was more than reasonable for a continental, and the rooms were clean.

My only complaints are that the door slamming of people leaving started about 6 a.m. every morning (which the hotel really can't control.) and the fact that the laundry room is on the third floor, where all the smokers are.

Overall those are minor to me, and we will stay there again if we are in the area.

Traveled to Gloucester area for Thanksgiving weekend and of course stayed the two nights at the Comfort Inn. Once again I have no complaints about this facility at all. The rooms they put my family and myself in were very clean, ample towels, beds were firm and comfortable, sheets and pillow cases were clean and crisp. The new flat screen TV's were awesome and the new, quiet AC/heat units were appreciated. Also, as usual, the staff was outstanding and profession. I just love Dana at the front desk. She is helpful, professional, friendly and knowledgeable. The breakfast was adequate as was last year, I talked to the lady in charge of the kitchen and suggested they bring back the sausage gravy and biscuits. She said they were looking into doing that. We've never had a problem with asking to check in early and I just think that overall this is one of the BEST motels we have ever stayed at. Gloucester is such a nice area to visit and the Comfort Inn makes the stay that much better. Thanks, Comfort Inn.

The first thing I like about this hotel was the detailed list of restaurants in the area, along with price range, type of food, directions and even pictures. Since I will be returning to this area several times in the next few months, this will be very helpful. Secondly, was the staff from a cheerful greeting when I arrived, to the help I received when I needed an iron in the morning - it wasn't a problem. Breakfast was fine - typical for the choicehotels - and that's fine by me. Finally, it was quiet!! Yeah.

Couple of things that could improve, but wouldn't stop me from staying: a) in my room the plug for the computer was real difficult to access; b) the pillows were real flimsy, and, c) a little further from Blacksburg, but only 18 mins. and traffic in the morning was not a problem.

So step a little further away and get a better price value for wonderful service and a quiet night.

The room appeared ok although worn so I settled in. I could tell that some maintenance was needed in the room as the faucet in the bathroom was loose. My dog immediately starting sniffing around the room and finding tidbits under the bed, which is never a good sign. Then I noticed the urine odor in the bathroom. By then I was too tired to ask for another room so decided to live with it for a night. When I showered the next morning, it was clear the odor was coming from the bathtub and/or shower curtain. I explained to the lady at the desk that I am usually happy to pay the pet fee as it goes toward extra cleaning. However, in this case, that extra cleaning had not occurred. She was apologetic and returned the pet fee to my account.
