I have stayed at this hotel before and I continue to be pleased with it. By some strange chance I ended up in the same room this year that I was in one year ago. And it was just as nice as before. Very clean (I checked all the corners). Very quiet and got a very good sleep.

My wife and I again chose to stay at the Holiday Inn Dumfries- Quantico due to it's convient location near a Christmas Party we were attending. The hotel is very well lit and is located right off of the Va. Route 234 exit of I-95. There was some slight confusion regarding check in. We came in the lobby a little after 11:00 pm and no one seemed to working the front desk upon our arrival. After waiting several moments we were checked into our room with the (Priority Club) reservation envelope that was waiting. We received our room cards for room 305 which was a very nice King room with mini-fridge and microwave unit. The room was very clean and everything was in perfect order. When I went to fill my ice bucket I did hear quite a loud a rowdy party going on down the hall, but they were far enough away from our room that we were not bothered. Management did provide us with vouchers for their breakfast buffet that they offered in the morning in the Quantico Grill area. As my wife loves IHOP and there is one located directly in front of the hotel property, we chose to have breakfast there instead.
This was again one of the nicest Holiday Inn's I have ever stayed in and would not hesitate to return.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Dumfries, Va from November 9th-12th, 2011.

We booked a group of rooms for a wedding guests for that weekend. The hotel is a newer property so if you use an older gps the address does not work, so call the hotel for directions.
The hotel put almost our entire group on the second floor, which worked well with our group.

Our room had two double beds and was very clean. The bathrooms had no mold on the walls and the shower curtains were clear of all slime. The rooms had a small refrigerator and microwave in the room.

The hotel had a free buffet breakfast for two every morning and children under 12 ate free from the buffet. This was the first week they offered a full free buffet breakfast so they still have a few kinks to work out. They did run out of food on a two of the mornings, but the wait was short for the fresh food to come out from the kitchen. The only disappoint was that they do not have any toast or bagels to go with your eggs.

They do offer free wi-fi and it worked quickly.

There are a few things that we are waiting for them to correct they double charged my sister's card for one of the rooms. The other thing was everyone who added their priority club number with the group department the number wasn't actually added in the reservation. Then we asked the front desk to add it and they said they had a new computer system and didn't know how to add the priority club number. We now have to fax the information over, which is a hassle that we shouldn't have to deal with, when we did our part.

The local area does not really have a lot to offer in terms of accommodations but this one is probably the largest and provides the most amenities. For those traveling to the Marine Corps Base or the FBI Academy, this is a convenient location and close to the things you'll need to be doing! The hotel is lovely and quite comfortable. Rooms are quiet (even during our stay when several carloads of teenage cheerleaders and athletes were also staying!). The staff is very friendly with a cheerful greeting every time you pass through the lobby and will provide helpful directions and tips on where to eat, etc. The dining at the hotel is a very limited menu and available only during limited hours (breakfast buffet and in the evening) but the bar is pleasant and offers free popcorn throughout the day. There is an IHOP 24-hour restaurant right across the street (is easy to cross the not-too-busy service road) that is very convenient for walking to get something to eat. Other restaurants and fast food places are also within a very short drive (would be close enough to walk if not for the very busy highway that you have to cross). Unless you are only staying overnight, plan to bring your own bath soap as they only provide a single typical-size bar of soap. we were there for 3 nights and there were 3 of us in the room so it dwindled to a small sliver long before we were leaving! The outdoor pool was understandably not available during our mid-October stay but the pool area was available for lounging and the afternoon sun made for a very pleasant sun worshipping time. I would recommend this hotel for travelers staying in the area or passing through on I-95.
